Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

While many paladins dedicate themselves to service to a deity in specific ways, some paladins dedicate themselves to their friends. In Faunia, friendship truly can be magic and these Pal Adins exemplify this. Oath of Friendship paladins are frequently close advisors to political leaders and phenomenal companions for travelling adventurers. Oath of Friendship paladins, unlike most paths in Faunia, developed universally across each country as individuals dedicated to those close to them so intensely that the bond granted them righteous power.

Tenets of Redemption

Loyalty- Never turn your back on a friend. There is always a way to help.

Empathy- Everyone comes from different backgrounds and perspectives, and they all feel different emotions. Put yourself in their shoes and try to feel with them.

Self Sacrifice- If it must be you or your friend, you know the choice to make. Take the proverbial bullet.

Friendship Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed. Once you gain access to an oath spell, you always have it prepared. Oath spells don't count against the number of spells you can prepare each day.

Channel Divinity: Fall on the Blade

You can use your Channel Divinity to protect those you care for at the expense of yourself. As a reaction when a creature within 60 feet of you takes damage, you can reduce that damage to 0 and take half of the damage they would've taken. This damage cannot be reduced further in any way.

Channel Divinity: Strength in Numbers

You can use your Channel Divinity to bolster yourself in the presence of those you defend. As a bonus action, you can give yourself a bonus to you AC as well as attack and damage rolls equal to the number of allies you have within 30 feet of you. This bonus lasts until the start of your next turn.

Aura of Allyship

Starting at 7th level, you exude friendship so powerfully that it hones the minds of those you love. You and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you are immune to the charmed and frightened conditions. Additionally, as a bonus action, you can give a number of temporary hit points equal to the number of creatures affected by your aura to one creature other than yourself within the aura.

At 18th level, this range increases to 30 feet.

Vigilant Warning

As a reaction, you can call out advice to avoid an incoming danger for an ally. If a friendly creature that can hear or see you is subjected to an attack roll, you can use your reaction to add half your paladin level rounded down to their AC. If they are subjected to a saving throw, you can reduce the save DC for that creature by the same amount. You can use this reaction a number of times equal to your charisma modifier, regaining all uses on a long rest.

Ultimate Companion

At 20th level, you can channel righteous energy to become a bastion of self sacrifice. As a bonus action, you can gain the following benefits for 1 minute.

  • Hostile creatures that can see you have disadvantage on attacks on any creature that is not you.
  • You gain a bonus to your attack and damage rolls equal to the number of allies within 30 feet of you.
  • All allies within 30 feet of you heal a number of hit points equal to your charisma modifier at the end of your turn.

Once you use this bonus action, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a 5th-level spell slot to use it again.
