Base Class: Monk

Some withdraw from the world to focus on their craft, others to be enlightened by their discipline, but for some the simple life is a means of removing distraction from their worship of their god. There are no official monasteries for the way of devotion, rather, most followers simply seek their god and are lead to monasteries of other traditions that take them in and provide for them. Their gods provision fosters the followers devotion as their faith grows they are often tasked with engaging the world with the God's mission.

Revelation of Divine Domain

At 3rd level, followers of the way of devotion receive a revelation of how to move forward their gods mission in the world through revelation of a divine domain. They receive the following features:

 - They gain the Cleric Spellcasting feature with the following spell progression:

- They may select any clerical domain available in the campaign setting excluding the twilight and peace domain. When they do they receive:

    - All the first level features of their domain selection and the bonus proficiencies. For example, if Death domain is selected you would receive: Death Domain Spells, Bonus Proficiency, and Reaper.

    - The expanded spell list progression is revised to match the Devotion Monk's spell progression: Monk 3 -> Cleric Level 1, Monk 7 -> Cleric level 2, Monk 13 -> Cleric level 3, Monk 19 -> Cleric level 4

   - If any cleric feature references the a cleric level then you should calculate your effective cleric level as one third of your monk level rounded down. For example the Death Domain feature "Channel Divinity: Touch of Death" would deal 5 + 2*(floor(monk level / 3)).

 

 

Revelation of Divine Nature

At 6th level, you draw closer to your god enabling you to channel an aspect of their divine nature into this world. You gain your divine domain's channel divinity feature which you can use once a rest. You gain an additional use at 12th level.

Revelation of Power

Beginning at 11th level, you gain the Blessed Strikes feature. You are blessed with divine might in battle. When a creature takes damage from one of your cantrips or weapon attacks, you can also deal 1d8 radiant damage to that creature. Once you deal this damage, you can't use this feature again until the start of your next turn.

Revelation on Intervention

At 17th level, your walk with your god has lead you understand when they will intervene from your petitions. You gain the Divine Intervention feature:

Imploring your deity's aid requires you to use your action. Describe the assistance you seek, and roll percentile dice. If you roll a number equal to or lower than twice your monk level, your deity intervenes. The DM chooses the nature of the intervention; the effect of any cleric spell or cleric domain spell would be appropriate. If your deity intervenes, you can't use this feature again for 7 days. Otherwise, you can use it again after you finish a long rest.
