Base Class: Bard
Bards of the College of the Maestro are known for their absolute and unending passion for their music. Their ability to draw upon the primal aspect of music, that which can bend the Weave itself to its tune, marks these bards as some of the few spellcasters closest to understanding magic's true nature. Gifted in commanding both the Weave and the battlefield, having a maestro by one's side can turn the tide of any skirmish.
Musical Polymath
When you join this college at 3rd level, you have begun to finely tune your performance prowess. You gain proficiency in the Performance skill, and gain expertise in one musical instrument of your choice.
Director's Reverie
At 3rd level, you gain the ability to tap into your fiery passion for music. As a bonus action, you can enter a heightened state and ecstatically hyperfocus on your spells and music for one (1) minute. For the duration, you gain the following effects:
- You have advantage on Charisma ability checks and saving throws.
- When you cast a spell that requires a spell attack, you can roll your Bardic Inspiration die and add it to the attack roll.
- As a reaction, when a creature within 30 feet of you that you can see takes damage from a spell, you can expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration feature to bolster it against the assault. It gains resistance against all damage dealt by the triggering spell.
While in this focused trance, you cannot make weapon attacks.
You can enter this state once at 3rd level, and can only do so again after finishing a long rest. The number of times you can enter this state increases by one when you reach 6th level (2/long rest) and 14th level (3/long rest). You regain all expended uses upon finishing the long rest.
Battlefield Conductor
When you reach 6th level, your performances inspire those around you into movement. When you cast a bard spell of 1st level or higher that has a casting time of an action or bonus action, you can direct an ally within 30 feet that can see and hear you to reposition.
As a reaction, the ally can move up to half their movement speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
Direct the Symphony
By 14th level, your dedication to your musical displays has become so rousing and inspiring that your allies follow along like players in an orchestra. While you are in your Director's Reverie trance, creatures of your choice within 10 feet of you gain the following benefits:
- Their attack rolls gain a bonus equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 0).
- When an ally starts their turn in the radius, they gain temporary hit points equal to your bard level that last until the end of their turn.
- As a reaction to an affected creature being forced to make a saving throw, you can expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration feature to grant them advantage on it. You can use this effect once per trance.
