Base Class: Wizard
The School of Universal Magic is quite different from the other, more common branches of arcane magic. Rather than specializing in a single school of magic or a unique technique, these practitioners are adamant on learning all they can, even from branches oitside the sphere of arcane arts.
Natural magic, divine magic, song magic, sorcery and the dark arts... to these magi these are but a diferent sort of arcane magic, with diferent rules from the norm but still the same. To magi, it's not a matter of if, but of in which order should they indulge their desire to learn.
Magical Research
Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, you gain the ability to research and record spells from other schools of magic into your spellbook. Doing so is a far more arduous task than recording a wizard spell, thus requiring gold and time you must spend to copy the spells is doubled.
All spells, regardless of class of origin, are considered Wizard spells and use your [ability score]Intelligence[/ability score] for casting.
Universal Savant
Beginning at 2nd level, when learning new cantrips you may select a Cantrip from any spellcasting list. Additionally, once per level you may replace one cantrip you currently know with another cantrip of any spellcasting list.
Malleable Cantrip
Starting at 6th level, when using spells with a number of effects limited to a number of non-instantaneous effects active at a one time (such as prestigitation, shape water and mold earth), you may have up to 10 non-instantaneous effects active at one time across all spells of this kind. Furthermore, you may now dismiss such effects as a bonus action.
Tome of Rituals
Beginning at 10th level, you imbue magic within a large tome with a value of 1,000 GP or higher, transforming it into a Tome of Rituals.
You can spend twice as much time and gold to record spells you find in your journey that have the ritual tag into the Tome of Rituals.
You can also spend ten times as much time and gold to transfer a spell with the ritual tag within your spellbook into your Tome of Rituals. Doing so removes the spell from your spellbook, allowing you to write a different spell of a spell level that you can learn within.
Spells written in your Tome of Rituals can only be casted as rituals.
Upon obtaining this trait, you can no longer record spells tagged as rituals into your spellbook upon level up.
Should the Tome of Rituals destroyed or lost, the player may imbue magic into a tome of a value equaling 1,000 GP or higher and transform the new tome into the old one. Should the original tome still exist, it crumbles into dust.
Advanced Recovery
Starting at 14th level, your attempts to experiment with a wide variety of spells has allowed your Arcane Recovery to evolve beyond the scope of other practitioners of the arcane arts.
The spell slots you choose to recover with Arcane Recovery can now have a combined level that is equal to or less than your wizard level, and none of the slots can be 8th level or higher.
For example, if you’re a 14th-level wizard, you can recover up to fourteen levels worth of spell slots. You can recover either two 7th level spell slots or four 3rd level and one 2nd level spell slots.
