Straw Doll Technique
3rd-level Way of the Curse feature
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can hurl vicious bolts of cursed energy.
You gain a new attack option that you can use with the Attack action. This special attack is a ranged spell attack with a range of 30 feet. You are proficient with it, and you add your Dexterity modifier to its attack and damage rolls. Its damage is force, and its damage die is a d4. This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table.
When you take the Attack action on your turn and use this special attack as part of it, you can spend 1 ki point to make the special attack twice as a bonus action.
When you gain the Extra Attack feature, this special attack can be used for any of the attacks you make as part of the Attack action.
Resonance
6th-level Way of the Curse feature
At 6th level, you gain the ability to channel your ki into searing waves of energy. Immediately after you take the Attack action on your turn, you can spend 2 ki points to cast the bestow curse spell as a bonus action.
You can spend additional ki points to cast bestow curse as a higher-level spell. Each additional ki point you spend increases the spell’s level by 1. The maximum number of ki points (2 plus any additional points) that you can spend on the spell equals to half your monk level rounded down.
You may only use the feature once per round. You cannot use both Resonance and Hairpin on the same turn.
Hairpin
11th-level Way of the Curse feature
Bolts from your Straw Doll Technique can now imbed themselves into targets and explode for massive cursed damage. After hitting a target with your Straw Doll Technique, you can expend Ki points, up to half your Monk level, to roll additional damage die for each point spent. The die is equal to your Martial Arts die and the damage type is force.
The target then makes a CON save throw against your Monk DC (8+Proficiency Bonus+WIS Modifier). The target takes the full damage rolled on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
You may only use the feature once per round. You cannot use both Resonance and Hairpin on the same turn.
Black Flash
17th-level Way of the Curse feature
After scoring a critical hit on a target you enter what is known as "the zone" and are able to go beyond what is thought possible. For the next minute you are considered to be under the effects of the haste spell. When the spell ends you are still able to move and take actions. Critical hits on subsequent attacks do not stack the spell, instead they reset the time the spell is active back to one minute extending your time in "the zone."
