Bard
Base Class: Bard

Those who enroll in the College of Dancing believe in the power of performance and entertainment. Their dances are regarded as high art, and can inspire their allies to great heights in combat, or instill a deep fear into their enemies.

(This subclass was based on "Dancer" units from the video game series Fire Emblem.)

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of Dancing at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Acrobatics and Performance. If you're already proficient in both these skills, you gain expertise in one of them.

Song of Champions

Starting at 3rd level, your dances inspire your allies to trudge forward through battle. As an action, you can expend a usage of your Bardic Inspiration die to grant a ally within 10ft an additional movement and action that they may take after your turn (no additional bonus actions or reactions are granted). In addition, they gain a bonus to their attack and damage rolls on that turn equal to half your Charisma modifier rounded up. Allies that gain actions through this ability cannot hold actions gained this way.

Beginning at 10th level, your Song of Champions ascends in its inspirational capabilities. As part of your Song of Champions ability, you may expend another usage of your Bardic Inspiration die to grant an additional ally within range the benefits of your inspiration, this ability must target a different ally, and they take their additional turn simultaneously with the other player. (or, if your DM rules, they may choose in which order to take their turns.)

Gratuitous Support

Also at 3rd level, your bonds with allies grow to a new level. Whenever an ally within 5ft of you that you have used your Song of Champions on this encounter is attacked with a melee weapon, you can use your reaction to grant disadvantage to that attack roll. If the attack misses, you can make an attack of opportunity on the attacker as part of your reaction.

Relentless Inspiration

At 6th level, you have gained the ability to replenish your stamina on a dime. As an action, if you have no remaining uses of Bardic Inspiration, you may regain a number of Bardic Inspiration die equal to half of your maximum total, rounded up. Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before you may use it again.

Aura of the Songstress

At 14th level, you have mastered the abilities granted through the College of Dancing, and your supportive capabilities manifest into an aura surrounding you. As a bonus action, you may expend and roll any number of your Bardic Inspiration to form an aura around you, the aura has a duration of turns and reach in feet equal to the sum of numbers rolled on your Bardic Inspiration die. Allies within your Aura of the Songstress gain the following benefits:

  • You have resistance against psychic damage and being charmed.
  • Your attacks deal an extra 1d6 force damage.
  • Whenever you would fall unconscious as a result of falling to 0 or fewer hit points, if you have no levels of exhaustion, instead you fall to 1 hitpoint and gain temporary hit points equal to the owner of the Aura of the Songstress's Bard level. Then, you suffer two levels of exhaustion, both of which disappear during your next long rest.
