Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

While others simply hunt for sport or to sell what they hunt, you ended up making a deeper connection with the nature around you during your times in the woods and/or any other place where modern society hasn't left its touch.  As a Druidic Warrior ranger, you have learned to respect the wilderness, as its nature itself the one who provides food and shelter to all who live in this planet. Whether you are a follower of the Wild Mother herself, or simply feel more at home sleeping on the dirt than a bed, this is the path for those who have found their way, their purpose, within nature's grasp.

Druidic Warrior rangers tend to wear masks based on different beasts and animals that they personally believe that embodies them the most, whether it is by appearance alone or by symbolism. As your level in ranger increases,  this mask gives its wearer different benefits in which they can choose from, as they level up.

Note: The mask can be a different accessory, if the player wishes to

Nature's Gift

Letting the world embrace you in its arms has made it so nature could leave its mark on you. Thanks to this, you gain the next benefits:

  • You gain proficiency in INT (Nature) checks, if you haven't yet.
  • Animals can understand what you are saying but can't respond back.
  • You gain proficiency in woodcarver's tools, to be able to create your wooden mask or any other accessory made out of wood.
  • You gain resistance to poison damage and advantage towards getting poisoned.

At 3rd level, when you choose this subclass, the mask made with the spirits of nature come with magical benefits to its wearer. This spirits are linked to the wildlife of the place where you carved your mask, therefore, if you see it more fitting to have a different animal for a different spirit, it is ok to re-flavor. (For example: a vulture if you came from the desert, rather than an eagle.

Note: Your mask doesn't have to match the spirit you choose. You can have an eagle mask and have the benefits of a wolf spirit.
