Base Class: Monk
A Monk trained in the Way of the Storm Charged learns to convert their wild emotions into a swirling storm of spiritual power. They both internally channel, and outwardly manifest this power as they fight. The end goal of a Storm Charged pupil is obtain inner peace, taming the storm within. They seek to reach the Eye, or Calm, of the Storm.
Note: This Subclass is a modification to the Way of the Sun Soul, combined with a modified "Fangs of the Fire Snake" feature from the Way of the Four Elements.
Fulminous Strike
At 3rd level, as part of the Attack action, you can spend 1 ki point to charge our body with the energies of a thunderstorm. For the attack, and the rest of your turn, your unarmed strikes deal thunder damage instead of bludgeoning, and your reach with them increases by 10 feet.
When you land a hit with your unarmed strike, you can spend 1 ki point and deal an additional 1d10 thunder damage. Additionally, a creature you hit for the first time with this ability must succeed on a Strength Saving throw or, upon failure, be pushed 10 feet away from you.
Roaring Thunder Blast
At 6th level, you learn to channel your tempestuous ki outward. Immediately after you take the Attack action, you can spend 2 ki points to cast thunderwave as a bonus action.
You can spend additional ki points to cast thunderwave as a higher-level spell. Each additional ki point you spend increases the spell's level by 1. Including the initial cost, the maximum number of ki points you can spend on the spell equals half your monk level.
Vitalic Lightning Joust
At 11th level, you have learned to shape your ki into a lightning-charged spear. As an action, you magically create a spear and thrust it a direction you choose. The spear extends down a line that is 100 feet long, impaling every creature on its path.
Each creature in that line must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 2d6 lightning damage. A creature doesn't need to make the save if it is behind total cover.
Spending kit on this feature increases its potency. You can increase the damage by spending up to 3 ki points. Each point you spend increases the damage by 2d6, and a creature that succeeds on its Constitution saving throw receives half the total lightning damage.
Sparking Shroud
At 17th level, you become charged with energy, creating a thin barrier of lightning that wraps around your body. The lightning crackles and sheds bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. You can extinguish or restore the lightning as a bonus action.
If a creature hits you with a melee attack while you are wrapped in this barrier, you can use your reaction to discharge a portion of it, dealing lightning damage to the creature. The damage equals 5 + your Wisdom modifier.
