Base Class: Monk
Way of the Weave monks learn to build up their inner stamina so that they can handle the power of devastating attack spells. They learn to use this power to deflect, nullify, and redirect spells cast at or around themselves, and can make limited melee attacks at the casters.
Magic's Bane
When you choose the Way of the Weave, you gain the Mage Slayer feat and proficiency in Weaver's Tools.
Reactive Deflect
Beginning at 3rd level, you may use your reaction to deflect any spell attacks that are directed at you by making a constitution save of the caster's spell DC. On a success, the spell is randomly deflected in a direction determined by a roll of a d8 (or a d6 if using a hex grid). The spell is then sent in the new direction and damage is dealt to the first creature that it hits in this direction. The spell's deflected range is equal to half of the original range, unless it is sent in the direction of the original caster (an 8 on a d8 or 6 on a d6) in which the damage is dealt to the caster regardless of range. At 6th level you may deflect any spell cast within 5ft of you.
Additionally, if you did not use a bonus action on your turn, you may make a bonus action ki-powered attack (ex. fury of blows) after using your reaction to deflect a spell attack.
Reflexive Extinguish
At sixth level, you may use your reaction to extinguish a spell likewise to your deflect ability. You may extinguish a spell by rolling a constitution save of the caster's spell DC. On a success, the spell immediately fades. This ability may be used at a spell directed at you or any creature within melee range of you. It may also be used if you are within melee range of the spell caster.
Additionally, if you did not use a bonus action on your turn, you may make a bonus action ki-powered attack (ex. fury of blows).
Arcane Redirect
At level 11, you gain a true understanding of magic and can redirect attack spells in the direction of your choosing. When an attack spell is cast in your direction, the direction of a creature within melee range, or the spell caster, you may make a constitution save equal to the spell DC of the caster. On a success, you may send the spell in the direction of any creature within the full range of the spell.
Additionally, you may use any remaining movement from your turn to move directly toward the spell caster. Upon entering melee range, if you did not use a bonus action on your turn, you may make a bonus action ki-powered attack (ex. fury of blows).
As an alternative to redirecting the spell immediately, you may spend a ki point to hold the spell. You may use an action to release the spell on your turn toward any target in the spell's range. While holding the spell, make a concentration check when hit by an attack and/or at the start of your turn. On a failure, immediately take the damage of the spell.
Intense Preparation
At 17th level, you may use your action to prepare yourself and gain a second reaction. If you do this, you may also spend a ki point to gain a third reaction. Concentration saves made during your reactions can be made at advantage.
