Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

As some of the most ancient, powerful, and capricious creatures in existence, dragons occasionally enter into trysts with unsuspecting mortals or sire offspring with exceptional individuals. Likewise, the great power wielded by these creatures has long intrigued wizards and alchemists who have sought various magical methods to infuse their bodies with draconic power. As a result, the blood of dragons runs through the veins of many races. For some, this heritage manifests as a sorcerous bloodline and a predilection for magic; for others, however, the power of their draconic ancestors becomes an obsession.

Dragon Knights embrace their martial prowess using the supernatural power of dragons, becoming fearsome warriors who possess the ability to unleash the furious power of dragons upon their foes.

Draconic Disciple

Starting at 3rd level, you can channel draconic power to magnify your presence. You gain the following benefits:

  • Draconic Presence. If you fail a Charisma (Intimidation) or Charisma (Persuasion) check, you can use your reaction to reroll the check, as you tap into the mighty presence of dragons. Once this feature turns a failure into a success, you can’t use it again until you finish a short rest.
  • Tongue of Dragons. You learn to speak, read, and write Draconic and one other language of your choice.
  • Draconic Ancestry. You select a draconic ancestry that you attune to throughout your path as a Dragon Knight. The dragon you select effects how you manifest your Dragon's Might, as well as the damage type of certain subclass features. The options available are shown in the table below.
 Dragon Damage Type
 Black Acid
 Blue Lightning
 Brass Fire
 Bronze  Lightning
 Copper Acid
Gold  Fire
Green  Poison
Red  Fire
Silver  Cold
White  Cold

Dragon's Might

Starting at 3rd level, you have learned how to imbue yourself with the might of dragons. As a bonus action, you magically gain the following benefits, which last for 1 minute:

  • If you are smaller than Large, you become Large, along with anything you are wearing. If you lack the room to become Large, your size doesn’t change.
  • You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
  • Once on each of your turns, one of your attacks with a weapon or an unarmed strike can deal an extra 1d6 damage to a target on a hit.
  • Your mouth transforms into a draconic maw. It deals 1d8 piercing damage on a hit.
  • Your body becomes covered in hardened scales. You gain a +1 bonus to your AC.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.

Draconic Aspects

Starting at 3rd level, you can use various aspects of draconic power to enhance your abilities. You learn two aspects of your choice, from among the aspects described below, and each time you gain a level in this class, you can replace one aspect you know with a different one from this feature. When you reach certain levels in this class, you learn additional aspects, as shown in the Aspects Known table.

Fighter Level  Number of Aspects
3rd 2
7th 3
10th 4
15th 5

Aspect of Endurance

This aspect taps into the otherworldly vitality of dragons. You gain the following benefit:

  • Draconic Endurance. You can invoke this aspect as a bonus action to increase your sturdiness. For 10 minutes, you gain a +2 bonus to all ability checks and saving throws that use Strength or Constitution.

Once you invoke this aspect, you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest

Aspect of Flight (7th Level or Higher)

This aspect taps into the power of flight, giving you the following benefits:

  • Draconic Wings. Whilst transformed using Dragon's Might, you gain a 60ft flying speed.

Aspect of Majesty

This aspect taps into the awe of a dragon's presence, giving you the following benefit:

  • Fascinating Presence. When a creature you can see ends its turn within 30 feet of you, you can use your reaction to invoke the aspect and force the creature to make a Wisdom saving throw. Unless the save succeeds, the creature is charmed by you for 1 minute. While charmed in this way, the creature has a speed of 0 and is incapacitated, descending into a stupor. The creature repeats the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.

Once you invoke this aspect, you can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest.

Aspect of Terror (7th Level or Higher)

This aspect taps into the terror of dragons, giving you the following benefits:

  • Eyes of Night. You have darkvision out to a range of 120 feet.
  • Frightening Presence. As an action, you can force each creature of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, a creature becomes frightened of you for 1 minute. The frightened creature can repeat this saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Once you invoke this aspect, you can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest.

Aspect of the Elements

This aspect taps into the raw elemental power of dragons, giving you the following benefit:

  • Elemental Breath. When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one of your attacks with an exhalation of magical energy in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 2d10 damage of the type associated with your Draconic Ancestry. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage. This damage increases by 2d10 when you reach 5th level (4d10), 11th level (6d10), and 17th level (8d10).

Once you invoke this aspect, you can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest.

Draconic Resistance

At 7th level, you gain resistance to the damage type associated with your Draconic Ancestry.

Draconic Attunement

Beginning at 10th level, your attunement with the aspects of dragons has become so strong that it manifests even when not transformed. You gain the following benefits:

  • Draconic Tail. You grow a scaled tail if you do not have a tail already.
  • Improved Draconic Might. The extra damage you deal with your Dragon's Might feature increases to 1d8.

Master of the Aspects

Beginning at 15th level, you can invoke each aspect you know from your Draconic Aspects feature twice, rather than once, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.

Draconic Juggernaut

Beginning at 18th level, you learn how to amplify your draconic transformation. You gain the following benefit:

  • Superior Draconic Might. The extra damage you deal with the Dragon's Might feature increases to 1d10. Moreover, when you use that feature, your size can increase to Huge, and while you are that size, your reach increases by 5 feet.
