Base Class: Bard
The stars since the beginning of time have represented such mystery, power, magic and splendor that many have wished to harness their power. Bards of the College of Starlight have learned to call upon the power of the constellations to dazzle those around them through the art of performance while fighting evil doers by night with their Starlight Companion. Some Starlight Bards even incorporate their Companion into their performances to dazzle the crowds further, hoping to quell the spread of darkness and evil with the joy of starlight.
Every College of Starlight bard is different and has a different way they got their abilities, perhaps your bard learnt from an ancient order of Starlight Bards who, alongside their Starlight Companions travel the world defeating evil while spreading tales of far cosmic adventurers. Perhaps you are the follower of a moon goddess that was gifted the powers of a Starlight Bard out of thanks for your loyalty and so you spread your goddess’ deeds through song or perhaps you are a Moon deity yourself, having lost your divine status or powers somehow and are wandering the mortal plane looking for guidance and aid while refusing to give into despair. Either way the College of Starlight is not much of a college, rather a technique to harness Starlight found only in bards with light and music in their hearts.
Moon Touched
At 3rd level you are granted the glorious powers of the Moon. You gain the Light cantrip and it does not count as one of your known spells and in addition you learn the Guiding Bolt spell which you always have prepared and does not count as a known spell.
Starlight Companion
At 3rd level you can summon the starry companion who watches over you in the Night’s sky. As an action, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration feature to summon your starlight companion.
The companion is friendly to you and your companions and obeys your commands. See this creature’s game statistics in the Starlight Companion stat block, which uses your proficiency bonus (PB) in several places. You determine the spirit’s appearance. Some companions take the form of a humanoid figure made to look like a starry night’s sky, while others look like beasts such as wolves or owl’s made of stars or with a wreath of stars orbiting them. If your companion is the form of a flying creature you can state it’s hovering rather than walking.

At 7th level it becomes 2d6 + PB and at 14th level it becomes 3d6 + PB.
Aura of Starlight. If you target the Starlight Companion with a Bardic Inspiration you can trigger this aura giving it an 10ft aura of healing that instantaneously heals all allied creatures for a number equal to a roll of your Bardic inspiration dice + your Charisma Modifier. This aura ends at the end of its turn.
At 14th level this aura increases to 30ft and the healing done is 2 of your Bardic inspiration dice.
In combat, the companion shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. The only action it takes on its turn is the Dodge action, unless you take a bonus action on your turn to command it to take another action. That action can be one in its stat block or some other action. If you are incapacitated, the companion can take any action of its choice, not just Dodge.
The companion manifests for 1 hour, until it is reduced to 0 hit points, until you use a bardic inspiration to summon it again, or until you die.
Luminous Blessing
At 6th level you can call upon the innate magical energies of the stars to grant this bonus to your allies. You can use your bardic inspiration to allow an ally or yourself to regain a spell slot equal to a roll of a d4. If you roll a number for a spellslot and the targeted ally has that level of spellslot full the Inspiration die is wasted. If you roll a 4 before you have access to 4th level spellslots you reroll.

- As a reaction you can teleport to your Starlight companion and vice versa or can swap places with your Starlight Companion.
- With an action you can activate Twin Moon Gaze to put your mind into your Companion’s body meaning for 1 hour, your companion dies, or concentration is broken you gain the Strength, Constitution and Dexterity ability scores, actions and senses of your Starlight Companion leaving your own body blinded and deafened. You roll concentration saving throws whenever you or your Companion take damage while in this state.
