Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

A banneret is a knight who inspires greatness in others by committing brave deeds in battle. The mere presence of one in a hamlet is enough to cause some orcs and bandits to seek easier prey. A lone banneret is a skilled warrior, but a banneret leading a band of allies can transform even the most poorly equipped militia into a ferocious war band.

A banneret prefers to lead through deeds, not words. As a banneret spearheads an attack, their actions can awaken reserves of courage and conviction in allies that they never suspected they had.

Banner Flag

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Intimidation and Performance skills.

You also gain a special 7-8 foot tall Banner Flag, which you often wield when using the features of this subclass. It can be held with one or both hands or planted into the ground as a bonus action, where it stays until you pick it up. Your Banner Flag can be attached to a Halberd, Glaive, or Pike. You can use an action to instantly destroy the flag wherever it is and have it reappear in a free hand. You determine the flags appearance, or generate it randomly by rolling on the Banneret Flag table.

Purple Dragon Aura

At 3rd level, your banner radiates a 30-foot purple aura while it is planted in the ground. While you're within the aura, you can use an action to cause all creatures of your choice within the aura to regain hit points equal to your fighter level, provided that the creature can see or hear you.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, with uses resetting after a long rest.

Bully

Starting at 7th level, you can punish enemies that enter your Banner's Aura. Enemy creatures within your Purple Dragon Aura provoke an opportunity attack from you and your allies  when they move 5 feet or more while within their reach, and if an enemy creature is hit with an opportunity attack while within the aura, their speed is reduced to 0 until the end of that turn.

Overwhelming Force

Starting at 10th level, you can direct your allies to attack simultaneously. When you use your Action Surge feature while within your Purple Dragon Aura, you can choose any amount of allies within the aura. Those creatures can make one melee or ranged weapon attack with their reaction, provided that they can see or hear you.

Let's Fight

Beginning at 15th level, you can rapidly approach your enemies to be in the front lines for your allies. Once on each of your turns, you can rapidly dash up to 40 feet in a straight line without provoking opportunity attacks to be in between an ally and an enemy creature. This dash takes none of your movement speed and if you do dash this way and take the Attack action afterwards, you can immediately plant your banner using one of your attacks.

Assert Dominance

Starting at 18th level, you assert an aura of pure superiority with your banner, granting you the following benefits:

  • Creatures within your Purple Dragon Aura cannot regain hit points by any means unless you allow them to.
  • Allies within your Purple Dragon aura are immune to the charmed and frightened conditions and have advantage of Death saving throws.
  • Enemy creatures that enter your Purple Dragon Aura must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC= 8 + your Charisma modifier + your Proficiency bonus) or be Frightened of you for 1 minute or until it leaves the aura. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. On a successful save, the creature is immune to this frightening effect for the next 24 hours.
  • Your Purple Dragon Aura now extends to 35 feet.
