Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks who follow the Way of the Cyclone embody the chaos within both the storm and the soul. Forsaking inner peace, they embrace their inner turmoil, gaining the power of a natural disaster. Their hearts become a vortex of magical energies, unpredictable and destructive.

Buffeting Gale

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, as a bonus action, you can summon an aura of swirling wind around yourself for 1 minute. For the duration, all spaces within a 5 foot radius originating from yourself counts as difficult terrain for any creature other than you.

Grasp of the Whirlwind

Also at 1st level, you know the mage hand cantrip. When you cast it, it appears as a tiny, whirling mass of air.

Drifting Body

At 6th level, while you are not incapacitated, you gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed. The maximum height you can reach with this speed is 5 feet above the ground. Additionally, when you would fall, you do so at a greatly reduced rate, taking no fall damage. You can move 2 feet horizontally for every 1 foot you descend.

Empowered Typhoon

Beginning at 11th level, as a bonus action, you can spend 3 Ki Points to cause one of the following effects:

  • All creatures within your Buffeting Gale must make a strength saving throw or be knocked 10 feet away from you.
  • Any creature of your choice that is within 10 feet of your Buffeting Gale must make a strength saving throw or drop whatever it is holding. Any loose items or dropped items land at your feet.
  • You gain temporary hit points equal to 1d4/creature in your Buffeting Gale.

Fist of the Tempest

At 17th level, you gain the speed of a wrathful storm. Your Buffeting Gale extends 30 feet from you. As an action, you can spend 3 Ki Points to make 1 unarmed strike against every creature of your choice within your Buffeting Gale.
