Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

You have mastered the art of using a shield offensively as well as defensively, for the benefit of yourself and your compatriots.

Shield Bash

At 3 level, as a bonus action, you can make an attack with the face or edge of your shield (up to, but NOT including Tower Shields) for d6+STR modifier bludgeoning (unless the shield is spiked or “edged” on the sides and bottom, then it is piercing or slashing) damage. Standard roll to hit to perform this attack and is a bonus action once per turn.

If the attack is successful, the target must succeed on a CON Save DC 15 or be stunned until end of your next turn.

Resolute Defense

At 7th level, you can use a bonus action to enter a defensive posture that grants an additional +1 to Armor Class while in this stance. Any action, reaction, bonus action or movement, will break the Resolute Defense stance. If none are made, the stance and bonuses remain in effect until your next turn. While utilizing Resolute Defense, you gain the following benefits:

1. Flanking benefits are negated.

2. If a melee attack on you misses by your shield bonus, including the stance bonus, you can use your reaction to make a shield strike against the attacking creature. This will not break the Resolute Defense.

THIS CAN BE USED ONLY A NUMBER OF TIMES EQUAL TO YOUR PROFICIENCY BONUS PER LONG REST.

Command of Provocation

At 10th level, you can goad a specific opponent into attacking only you. You specify a single enemy within 30 feet of you that can hear you and verbally taunt it into attacking only you. The target must make a WIS Save vs DC vs (8 + CHA mod + Proficiency Bonus). On a failed Save, it has disadvantage on attack rolls against creatures other than you. It must make a WIS Save each time it attempts to move to a space that is more than 30 feet away from you.

This effect will end under the following condition:

1. The target succeeds a WIS Save (made when it tries to move more than 30 feet away from you)

2. You attack a target other than the target of this ability.

3. If a creature friendly to you damages the target or casts a harmful spell on it.

4. If you end your turn more than 30 feet away from the target.

Invigorating Resolve

At 15th level, entering Resolute Defense can be done once per turn as a Free Action, but now limited to a number of times equal to 2x your Proficiency Bonus per Long Rest.

Also, when you enter the Resolute Defense stance, you regain a number HP equal to your (CON modifier + Proficiency Bonus).

Superior Defenses

At 18th level, you can enter the Resolute Defense once per turn as a Free Action, but unlimited times per Long Rest.

You can use the shield to create an opening in your opponent’s guard and make an attack with advantage. Doing so does not break Resolute Defense. This act is a reaction allowed once per turn to an attack that misses you.

You also gain the ability to use your reaction OR your bonus action to interfere with an attack on another creature as long as EITHER the attacker OR target are within 10 feet of you. This act, also, will not break Resolute Defense.
