Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Nutcracker are the ultimate Masters of breaking through armour, whether natural or artificial. They learn Techniques in order to crack their opponent's skulls, bones and if the situation requires it - nuts. Their powerful blows could create dents in their opponent's armour. It is rumoured that their jaws are so strong that they can bite a chunk out of a plate armour piece and chew it so finely that they spit out a few small metal balls. Additionally, they can use their ki in order to improve their natural armour and resistances

Cracking Bite

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level you learn the flattening bite technique. Your jaws are able to crack any mundane material (rocks, glass, seashells, nuts, etc.). You can take the following action in combat:

  • When you successfully catch a missile with Deflect Missiles, you can use one ki point to chew it to tiny pieces and spit it back at your opponents. You can target more than one creature but the damage is divided by the number of creatures you target (minimum 2). This counts as a monk weapon for the attack, which has a normal range of 20 feet and a long range of 60 feet. The projectiles deal piercing damage.

*[Your DM is the one to decide whether you'll have to roll for breaking a specific object such as diamonds, in which case, you'd add your dexterity modifier to the roll.]

Protective Shell

At 6th level you gain the ability to manifest your ki in the form of a protective shell around your whole body. You are a nut. After using this feature, you may increase your AC temporarily by your level in monk, divided by three (round up). You gain resistance to piercing and slashing damage attacks. This lasts for a minute and you can use it again after a short rest.

Shell-Cracking Flurry

At 11th level you gain the ability to break your opponent's natural and artificial armour. After using your Flurry of blows, lower your opponent's AC by 1d6 halved (round down) for each unarmed strike hit. You may use this feature only once per combat encounter.
Additionally, if you succeed on a grapple check, you could use three ki points to completely shatter your target's armour. DC equals your opponent's AC, contested by your roll + your strength modifier. Creatures that do not wear any medium or heavy armour and do not have a carapace take 4d10 force damage. You can only do this once per day.

Nut-Flattening Strike

Upon taking this feature at 17th level there are very few substances that you can't crack. During combat you can take the following actions:

  • You deliver a kick, which could shatter bones into the crotch of a humanoid creature. On hit, you can spend 6 ki points in order to paralyze the creature for 1d100 hours (The duration of the paralysis is doubled on a crit). Additionally, the creature takes 10d10 force damage.

  • As a reaction, you can catch an incoming ranged and melee attack with your teeth. If it's a melee attack, you can attempt to shatter the weapon or damage it in some way. Your DM determines the DC for your success when you decide to shatter the weapon (you add your dexterity modifier). If the attacker is unarmed you can attempt to bite their limb off or damage it in some way (10d10 force damage). You can easily catch missiles and use Cracking Bite to use them as projectiles as a free action next turn. If the attack is a non-area of effect spell, you must use a ki point in order to fortify your jaw with a shell of ki and you nullify the damage.

  • You can spend 6 ki points in order to unleash your inner nut. You form a shell around yourself and gain immunity to non-magical attacks for 1 minute. Your AC increases by half your monk level (round up) and you also gain resistance to all damage types except force. You can only use this once per long rest.
