Base Class: Barbarian
Barbarians who walk the Path of the Sovereign do so with a sense of conviction, knowing their right to rule is undeniable. Often having strong convictions and bold ideas, these barbarians treat every battle, from the smallest skirmish to the largest conquest, as a stepping stone on their path to greatness.
Sovereign's Dominion
When you enter a rage, or as a bonus action while raging, you can choose a willing creature you can see within 30 feet of you. The creature becomes your vassal for the duration of your rage. While a creature is a vassal, it gains the following benefits:
-The first time it hits a creature with an attack on its turn, it deals additional damage equal to your rage damage bonus. This additional damage is of the same type as the attack.
-It has advantage on Strength checks and saving throws.
-Whenever it takes bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage, it can reduce the damage by an amount equal to your rage damage bonus.
You can have one creature as your vassal at a time; if you choose another creature to be your vassal, the other creature loses the benefits. While a creature is your vassal, you can have a harmless sensory effect to show off as such. An illusory crown might form around it's head, a mark or symbol related to you might appear somewhere on its skin, or a wispy tether might appear between the two of you while you can both be seen.
High Court
You gain proficiency in the Intimidation and Persuasion skills. If you are already proficient in either of these skills, you can instead gain proficiency in a skill from the Barbarian skill list.
Additionally, you can add your strength modifier to any Intimidation or Persuasion checks you make while raging. You have advantage of these checks if the target can see both you and your vassal.
Bend Thy Knee
When you hit a creature with a weapon attack while raging, you can force it to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier). On a failed save, it becomes subjugated for 1 minute and falls prone. A subjugated creature can't stand up from prone while you're within 30 feet of it. At the end of each of its turns, a subjugated creature can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on a success. You can use this feature once per rage.
Expansive Dominion
You can have up to two vassals at once, and can choose up to two creatures to become your vassal when you enter a rage or create a vassal as a bonus action on your turn.
Worthy of Service
When you spend at least 3 days in a settlement, a number of commoners equal to half your proficiency bonus approach you and offer to perform mundane tasks for you, but they won't fight for you, won't follow you into obviously dangerous areas, and will stop aiding you if you endanger or abuse them. They'll also stop aiding you once you leave the settlement.
Sovereign's Decree
You and your vassals can cast aside those who would challenge your rule. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack while raging, you can condemn it until the start of your next turn. The first time each of your vassals hit a condemned creature with an attack, it takes an additional 4d12 force damage.
If a condemned creature is reduced to a number of hit points equal to or less than twice your barbarian level, it dies.
Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
