Base Class: Barbarian
Path of Control Barbarians are the antithesis of Path of the Berserker Barbarians. Rather than lean into rage and lack of control in exchange for power, they lean into control for power over themselves. This allows them a more reserved and tempered rage, and more skill in social situations.
Harnessed Rage
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can choose to suspend your rage for 1 turn, without ending it. As a bonus action on your turn, you cause yourself to no longer experience the effects of your rage allowing you to cast a spell, or take a turn without attacking or taking damage, without your rage ending. You enter your rage again at the end of your turn.
In addition, you learn two cantrips and 1 first-level spell from the Druid spell list. Your spellcasting ability is Wisdom, your spell attack bonus is your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier, and your spell save DC is 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier. Once you cast your first-level spell, you cannot do so again until you complete a long rest.
Branching Out
Beginning at 6th level, you have reached out and learned skills unassociated with battle. You gain proficiency in 2 skills, or 1 skill and 1 set of artisan's tools. You also learn to speak, read, and write one additional language.
Power of Mind
Beginning at 10th level, your power over your mind and emotions gives you proficiency in Wisdom saving throws.
In addition, when your rage ends, you can choose to also end any the charmed or frightened conditions that are affecting you.
Also, suspending your rage no longer requires a bonus action, but can be done for free on your turn. You can choose to continue to suspend your rage for up to 1 minute, rather than it automatically restarting again at the end of your turn.
Rage of the Wise
Starting at 14th level, you gain access to additional spells. You can choose one additional cantrip (three total), one more 1st level spell (two total), and one other spell of 2nd or 3rd level from the Druid spell list. Once you cast a spell of 1st level or higher, you cannot cast it again until you complete a long rest. You can regain 1 use of a specific spell, or 1 use of your rage during a short rest so long as you spend that rest meditating.
You also gain resistance to psychic damage.
