Base Class: Ranger
When forces find themselves over-matched, their leaders come to you. Your skills in bushcraft and destruction form a unique skillset, and you've used it to unseat more than one tyrant, or perhaps your gifts have been turned to serve dark forces. As a bushfighter, you are a ranger who specializes in martial combat, striking with the military prowess of a soldier and the cunning guile of a rogue.
Never Saw it Coming
At 3rd level, your expertise in secretive attacks spreads to your allies. If you have time to organize, your entire party may use your stealth check when trying to hide. Additionally, you may make a hide as a bonus action.
If you are not already proficient in stealth or survival, you become proficient in them.
Irregular Tactics
At 7th level, you gain one of the following features of your choice.
Dirty Fighter
Your melee attacks cause an additional 1d6 damage.
Identify Weakness
You can spend a bonus action to study an opponent. Make a wisdom check, with a DC equal to the target's CR + 8. On a success, you can make your next attack at advantage.
You may use this skills a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus before taking a long rest.
Painful Trap
When you take a hide action, you can leave a trap in an adjacent space. This trap triggers when another character enters the space.
When a trap is triggered, the target suffers 2d8 damage. This damage is halved on a successful reflex save, against a DC equal to 10 + your proficiency bonus. This damage increases to 3d8 at level 11 and 4d8 at level 15.
Pile On
At 11th level, when you make an attack against a creature who is adjacent to an ally, your ally may make an attack against that creature as a reaction. This attack deals an additional 1d6 damage if it hits. You may use this feature once per turn.
Battlefield Expert
At 15th level, you may spend a full action to study your surroundings. Make a survival check against a DC of 15. On a success, you may create one of the following conditions:
- All opponents attacks are made with disadvantage for the next turn
- Any check made to hide by you or your allies adds your proficiency bonus
- You may place three traps anywhere within 30 feet. These traps function as per the "Painful Traps" feature.
