Base Class: Barbarian
Those who walk the Path of Serenity go to great pains to achieve the calmness of mind to redirect their inner fury to new heights of peace and zen
Zen State
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can go into a Zen State instead of raging. To do so, you must be at half of your maximum HP or less when you activate your Rage ability and chose to enter a Zen State instead. When you do so, the following benefits apply in addition to the norma Rage benefits unless otherwise specified:
- You have advantage on Wisdom checks and saving throws
- You may choose to make melee weapon attacks using Wisdom instead of Strength
- When you make a melee weapon attack using Wisdom, the bonus damage from the Rage Damage column on the Barbarian Table is halved (rounded up)
- When you make a melee weapon attack using Wisdom, you gain a bonus to your attack roll equal to half (rounded down) of the Rage Damage column on the Barbarian table
- You have resistance to psychic damage
Focused Mind
At 6th level, your mental fortitude grants you the ability to expend mental energy to power other abilities. Your focus capacity is represented as Focus Points, which is limited to half of your Barbarian Level rounded down
You can spend these points to fuel various features. You start knowing two such features: Flurry of Blows and Patient Defense.
You can also spend these points to enable spellcasting while in Zen State. To cast a spell, you must spend a number of Focus Points equal to the spell's level (1 for cantrips) and have a spell or pact slot available (the Focus Point enables the casting, the action still consumes resources and slots as normal). Additionally, you can expend a number of Focus Points to maintain concentration on a spell you cast before entering Zen Sate equal to the spell's level (1 for cantrips)
When you spend a Focus Point, it is unavailable until you next enter Zen State
Flurry of Blows
Immediately after you take the Attack action on your turn, you can spend 1 Focus Point to make two unarmed strikes as a bonus action.
Patient Defense
You can spend 1 Focus Point to take the Dodge action as a bonus action on your turn.
Extended Serenity
Beginning at 10th level, you can extend your own serene grace to your allies. As an action, you can end an allies charmed or frightened condition if the ally is within 30 feet of you and you can see them. Or, if an ally you can see within 30 feet fails a saving throw against being charmed or frightened, you can use your reaction to make them succeed the saving throw.
You can only use this ability once per Zen State
True Zen
Starting at 14th level, when you rage you can choose to enter your Zen State regardless of what your current health is
