Base Class: Rogue
You have honed your skills to excel at the tracking, and elimination, of specific targets. Similar to assassins, Bounty Hunters are expert killers, but work more as nomadic hunters, taking jobs where they can be found, whether beast or humanoid.
Hunter's Sense
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain the ability to cast Hunter's Mark. You can cast the spell a a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per short rest.
Trophy Hunter
Starting at 3rd level, you can harvest specific trophies from targets you hunt. When you land the killing blow on a creature of CR equal to or higher than your character level you can spend an hour harvesting a trophy from the body. During this time you choose a trait of the creature you killed, such as a specific damage resistance, darkvision, or in some cases, a special ability. You can only have up to three trophies at a time.
Favoured Targets
Starting at 9th level, you become especially adept at hunting a specific type of target. You can choose aberrations, beasts, celestials, constructs, dragons, elementals, fey, fiends, giants, monstrosities, oozes, plants, or undead. Alternatively, you can select two races of humanoid (such as gnolls and orcs) as favored targets. Creatures of your chosen type have disadvantage on Perception checks made to spot you, and trophies harvested from them can bestow two effects.
Hunter's Amulet
At 13th level, you learn how to create a Hunter's Amulet, a magic infused amulet carved from the bones of a powerful beast. You can spend a short rest harvesting and carving the necessary bones from a creature of CR 15 or higher in order to create a Hunter's Amulet. When you do, you may choose one of the following properties to imbue the amulet with:
- You gain the fallen creature's creature type as a second Favoured Target
- You gain three traits of the fallen creature
- Your max hit points increase by the fallen creature's Constitution score
- You can cast Polymorph once per short rest, turning the target into the form of the fallen creature
Apex Predator
Starting at 17th level, you become a master predator. You have mastered the art of hunting your Favoured Targets, and deal sneak attack damage on each hit against them, regardless of other factors. This sneak attack damage does not count as your one sneak attack per turn.
