Base Class: Sorcerer
You have felt the cold embrace of death, the cold claws of the grim reaper were about to grasp you but due to a dark ritual you performed in life, you were able to slip free and escape a life damned for eternity. You are trapped forever in a state of undeath, not dead but can never truly be alive. Your body is decayed, a mere shadow of its former self, but it's a small sacrifice to pay for the near almighty powers you gained.
Grasp of Death
At 1st level, your body has begun to decay and everything you touch dies and withers away. You can use an action to reach out and touch any one creature within range, that creature must make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or take 1d8 necrotic damage. If the creature is Grappled by you, it must make the same Constitution saving throw at the end of each of its turns that it is grappled for or take another 1d8 necrotic damage. Additionally, if you were to make an unarmed strike against a creature, that creature takes an addition 1d4 necrotic damage on top of your unarmed strike damage. Constructs, Celestials and Fiends are immune to this ability.
At 6th level, the damage increases by an additional 1d8, and again at levels 14 and 18 (to a maximum of 4d8).
Absorb Soul
At 6th level, any soul you reap is yours for the taking. When you deal damage to any creature and the creature dies from the damage, you gain temporary hit points equal to the damage the creature took. If you had previously taken damage, you instead regain a number of hit points equal to the damage the creature took instead.
Enthralling Gaze
At 14th level, you can seep into the minds of any creatures you wish. You gaze into the eyes of any one creature of your choosing, that creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or be under your control for 5 hours; at the end of each hour, the creature can remake the saving throw, on a success they will no longer be controlled by you. If the creature succeeds the saving throw, you cannot use this ability on them again. Constructs and Plants are immune to this ability.
Soul Magic
At 18th level, the souls of the damned can be summoned upon you to help you in your spellcasting. When you kill a creature, roll a d8, you regain all spell slots for the spell level equal to that roll. For example, if you rolled a 3, you would regain all 3rd level spell slots. Additionally, if you cast a spell that causes damage to a creature (i.e. magic missile), the spell gains an additional 1d8 necrotic damage.
