Base Class: Monk
As a guardian of life and death, you protect your friends around you while granting a swift death to your foes. This is the way you were taught. In your temple, there is a tradition of balancing latent strength and overt violence, which you have been a student of since you were welcomed there as a child. You have practiced how to maintain your composure without lashing out and ruining others' perception of you, but battle shows a different side of you.
Before your masters welcome you as one of them, they wish you to gain experience in the battlefield and to show your worth. They granted you a spiritual lion as your companion spirit and totem. You must train your newly appointed spirit and learn to fight with it, to then become a master yourself.
Bonus Proficiencies
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Perception skill if you don’t already have it. You have trained to see through an enemy's defenses and are able to see weaknesses they might not even know they have. You gain proficiency in the Deception skill as you can overt how others see your spirit.
Spiritual Convergence
At 3rd level, you have used your taught technique to channel your lion spirit. This is a bonus action that can be used on your turn to grant you additional effects on your abilities.
Master of Fists and Kicks
Though you have chosen this tradition and been granted your spiritual lion at 3rd level, you still have trained in martial arts. As an extension of your unarmed attacks, you have the option to use your action to do a jumping kick attack. This action uses 5ft of your movement speed to attack an enemy within 10ft of you. This attack can trigger a Flurry of Blows attack, providing that you expend the proper Ki. This attack uses the same die your unarmed attacks require.
Lion's Strike
At 3rd level, you learn channel your lion spirit as part of your Flurry of Blows. Whenever you use Flurry of Blows while channeling your totem spirit, your attack does an additional unarmed strike on your turn.
Spiritual Takeover
Starting at 6th level, when under half-health you can forsake your body to let your totem take over its control (This expends 1 Ki). When this occurs and if you are not wearing armor, your AC increases by 2. Also your movement speed increases to 45.
Martial Excellence
Starting at 11th level, you see some growth when on the battlefield. You have been training your totem spirit, but you have noticed significant changes in your body as well. With this change, you have gained another Feat option (of your choice). With this growth, you have been able to disguise your personal weaknesses and are now immune to being critically hit.
Surging Lion
At 17th level, you gain the ability to channel your lion's spirit into a tangible form. When a Flurry of Blows attack is used, you can channel the totem spirit into a projectile that can hit a target for the additional unarmed attacks. This attack's range is dependent on your movement speed.
If you have used Spiritual Convergence before Flurry of Blows, the attack gains an additional unarmed strike.
