Bard
Base Class: Bard

A Prophet or Oracle as they called by different societies can fill a number of roles. They can be skilled healers, adept spellcasters, brilliant swordsman, and sneaky rogues. The one thing they all share is a message. A power from beyond the mortal realms has chosen you as their vessel to deliver that message. You will travel the lands of mortal men sharing this message and increasing your patrons influence. Some Prophets hail from a god or angel, and others may serve a Fey Lord or Demonic Prince. Unlike other bards, your skills and abilities are granted to you by the grace of a being far above you. You may have attended a school or college at the beginning of your career but at some point you were struck by divine inspiration and/or filled with a holy/unholy message. It's up to you and your DM to determine the exact nature of your patron together.

Words of Prophecy

3rd Level Prophet Feature

Starting at 3rd level glimpses of the future begin to press in on your awareness. When you finish a long rest, roll two d20s and record the numbers rolled. You can replace any attack roll, saving throw, or ability check made by you or a creature that you can see with one of these Prophecy rolls. You must choose to do so before the roll, and you can replace a roll in this way only once per turn.

Each Prophecy roll can be used only once. When you finish a long rest, you lose any unused Prophecy rolls.

Starting at 14th level, the visions in your dreams intensify and paint a more accurate picture in your mind of what is to come. You roll three d20s for your Words of Prophecy feature, rather than two.

Prophecy of Life

3rd Level Prophet Feature

Beginning at 3 level, as a bonus action you can expend one use of your bardic inspiration to heal one of your comrades for bardic die plus your charisma modifier.

Expert Divination

3rd Level Prophet Feature

Beginning at 3 level, casting divination spells comes so easily to you that it expends only a fraction of your spellcasting efforts. When you cast a divination spell of 2nd level or higher using a spell slot, you regain one expended spell slot. The slot you regain must be of a level lower than the spell you cast and can’t be higher than 5th level.

I saw it coming...

6th Level Prophet Feature

Starting at 6th level, when an attacker that you can see hits you with an attack, you can use your reaction to halve the attack’s damage against you. You can also nimbly dodge out of the way of certain area effects, such as an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.

Visions of the Past

6th Level Prophet Feature

Starting at 6th level, you can call up visions of the past that relate to an object you hold or your immediate surroundings. You spend at least 1 minute in meditation and prayer, then receive dreamlike, shadowy glimpses of recent events. You can meditate in this way for a number of minutes equal to your Wisdom score and must maintain concentration during that time, as if you were casting a spell.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Object Reading. Holding an object as you meditate, you can see visions of the object’s previous owner. After meditating for 1 minute, you learn how the owner acquired and lost the object, as well as the most recent significant event involving the object and that owner. If the object was owned by another creature in the recent past (within a number of days equal to your Wisdom score), you can spend 1 additional minute for each owner to learn the same information about that creature.

Area Reading. As you meditate, you see visions of recent events in your immediate vicinity (a room, street, tunnel, clearing, or the like, up to a 50-foot cube), going back a number of days equal to your Wisdom score. For each minute you meditate, you learn about one significant event, beginning with the most recent. Significant events typically involve powerful emotions, such as battles and betrayals, marriages and murders, births and funerals. However, they might also include more mundane events that are nevertheless important in your current situation.

Foretold Convergence

14th level Prophet Feature

You can peer through possible futures and magically pull one of them into events around you, ensuring a particular outcome. When you or a creature you can see within 60 feet of you makes an attack roll, an ability check, or a saving throw, you can use your reaction to ignore the die roll and decide whether the number rolled is the minimum needed to succeed or one less than that number (your choice).

When you use this feature, you gain one level of exhaustion. Only by finishing a long rest can you remove a level of exhaustion gained in this way.

Foresight

14th Level Prophet Feature

You have served your patron so well that they have granted you the ability to cast the Foresight spell once per week as an action
