Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Your patron resides within you, for you are its host. Its origins are unclear - perhaps it came from space on a falling meteor, or maybe it's an invader from another plane of existence. Whatever the case may be, it has managed to infect you, and has begun to proliferate itself inside you.

Now it and its kin feed off your body, growing stronger and stronger - your patron gives you something in return, a modicum of its unusual power. All it asks for in return is that you help it spread.

Expanded Spell List

Your patron lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a Warlock spell. The following spells are added to the Warlock spell list for you.

Parasite Expanded Spells

Spell Level Spells
1st Detect Poison and Disease, Bane
2nd Alter Self, Blindness/Deafness
3rd Haste, Stinking Cloud
4th Dominate Beast, Polymorph
5th Contagion, Dominate Person

Patient Zero

Starting at 1st level, the parasite inside you has overridden your immune system so that it can act with impunity within your form.

You are immune to disease.

Parasitic Invasion

Also at 1st level, you are able to spread your infestation to others in order to cripple them.

As a bonus action, you can choose a creature that you can see within 5 ft. of you - make a melee spell attack. On a hit, the target becomes infected with parasites created by your patron. While these parasites remain in their system, the creature acts as though it is suffering from a disease, and suffers the following effects.

  • The target receives a penalty to their attack and damage rolls equal to your proficiency bonus.
  • The target has disadvantage on ability checks and on Constitution saving throws they make to maintain concentration.
  • The target's movement speed is reduced by 15 ft.

The target can make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC at the end of each of their turns, expelling the virus on a success. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regains any expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Degenerative Condition

At 6th level, your parasitic patron has evolved its brood so that they can weaken the muscular system of your targets.

When a creature infected by your Parasitic Invasion feature attempts to make a Strength or Dexterity saving throw, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the roll. If the target then fails the saving throw, if immediately falls Prone as their muscles fail them.

Contagious Pathogen

At 10th level, the parasites within you become so contagious that just being near an infected creature is enough to put one at risk.

When a hostile creature starts its turn within 10 ft. of a creature under the effects of your Parasitic Invasion feature, they must make a Constitution saving throw against your Spell Save DC. On a failure, the target becomes infected as if you had used your Parasitic Invasion feature on it.

Otherworldly Epidemic

At 14th level, your parasitic patron has evolved its brood once more so that they can bypass immune systems or curative methods that try to stop them. Your Parasitic Invasion feature now ignores immunity to disease, and ignores spells and abilities that can be used to end diseases (such as Lesser Restoration).

As well, your patron's Parasites can be used as a conduit for your spells - when you cast a spell of 5th level or lower, you can choose to deliver it through a creature infested by your Parasitic Invasion feature. The creature must be within 200 ft. of you, and it performs any Verbal or Somatic components required by the spell - you cannot cast a spell that has a Material Component in this way. If a spell requires an attack roll or saving throw, it uses your spell attack modifier or spell save DC.
