Spelltheif

The Spelltheif subclass is my attempt to bring one of my favorite villains of all time, Chrollo Lucilfer, into Dungeons and Dragons. I think this subclass is a bit on the strong side and may need some tweaks. I'm open to criticism and I would appreciate any notes anyone has on this subclass. I will be playing this in a high-magic campaign in the near future.

Bandit's Secret

• Starting at 3rd level, your latent magical ability allows you to conjure a magical spell book that allows you to use your class abilities.
• If you lose your Bandit’s Secret, you can perform a 1-hour ceremony to re-create your Bandit’s Secret.
• In addition, you can spend a bonus action to resummon your Bandit’s Secret.

• Your Bandit’s Secret allows you to cast Steal Spell at your highest spellcasting level 2 times per day.

• This scales with your proficiency bonus
• You are only able to cast Steal Spell through Bandit’s Secret

Skillhunter

• Skill Hunter(6th Level)
• At 6th level, you are able to permanently steal a spell from a spellcaster. You must fulfill 4 requirements to steal a spell.
• 4 Requirements
• You must witness spell in action
• You must ask the spellcaster a question about the spell in question and receive an answer.
• The spellcaster in question must place their hand (or equivalent such appendage) on the cover of Bandit’s Secret.
• The following 3 requirements must be completed within an hour.
• Spells stolen by Skill Hunter can only be cast while holding Bandit’s Secret in one of your hands.
• Once a spell has been stolen the original owner can no longer cast the spell. However, the use of the spell can be transferred back to its original owner. If the original user of a spell stolen through Skill Hunter is killed, you lose the ability to cast it.
• Spells stolen by Skill Hunter can be cast using a use of Steal Spell.
  • You must hold the book in your hand during the casting of the spell.

Doubleface

• Double Face (14th Level)
• You can now place Double Face on one of the pages of Bandit’s Secret to negate the requirement to be holding it while casting a spell stolen with Skill Hunter.
• Additionally can now harness 2 spells stolen by Skill Hunter.
• You can place Double Face on a page of Bandit’s Secret and hold open a second page.
• This allows you to cast one of the two spells as a bonus action.
