Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

An oath made by a naïve paladin, made to a trickster or betrayal-deity posing as a righteous one. The Oath is to justice, but the influence of the oath-binding god twists and churns your very concept of justice. Some oathbound under this oath are pulled down a lonesome path of betrayal, while others are merely toyed with and avenge "inequalities" being fueled more by jealousy than justice.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Not yours to have. As a bonus action, you channel your oath's power to take back what was stolen. For an hour, the next 2 sleight of hand checks that you make are made with proficiency. The checks have advantage if you attempt to take an item which you believe is stolen property.

Entice. You use divine power to trick those greedy for unjust gain. As an action, you make an offer to a creature that can hear and understand you. If the creature fails on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC, they are unable to attack you for two turns. Righteous beings or those who do not want anything you have to offer, such as a primal being, automatically succeed.

Greedsense

Replaces Divine Sense. You gain an acute sense toward the unjust wealth of others and are disgusted by it. As an action, you open your senses to detect any treasure or valuable items within 30 feet of you that was obtained by violence or thievery. You also sense highly well earned items earned by excessive displays of worthiness or hard work such as prized noble heirlooms or consecrated items. You do not detect the nature of the item, only its rough value and the means by which it was obtained.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your charisma modifier + 1, per long rest.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Oath of Jealousy Spells

Aura of Interrogation

You and your allies cannot be blindsided by those who would escape retribution.

Starting at 7th level, you and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you can’t be charmed while you are conscious.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Indignation

At 15th Level, Choose between Swift Retribution and Righteous Rage to deal with Targets of retribution. Targets of retribution include the owner of any item sensed by Greedsense, creatures who have damaged you at any time in the past, and creatures that have deceived you in the past. You have to know after the fact that they were being deceptive. You may reconsider your choice at any level at which you gain ability scores.

Hemirighteous Rage

Instead of your second attack, you may attempt to frighten a Target of Retribution. The creature must succeed on a charisma saving throw against your spell save DC or be frightened of you for a turn.

Swift Retribution

Your running, swimming, climbing and flying speeds are increased by 20 feet if you are moving towards a target of retribution.

Holy Self-Righteousness

At 20th level, you perceive yourself as the sole source of justice in this greedy world. As an action, you channel your Oath's power to enter the ultimate state of self-righteousness. You gain the following benefits:

  • If no allies are within your auras, your Indignation can target any creature. In addition, landing an attack against a creature that has previously benefitted from your spells, features or auras grants you 1d10 temporary hit points.
  • If allies are within your auras, you gain advantage on insight and persuasion checks. landing an attack against a Target of Retribution grants you 1d6 temporary hit points.

You cannot use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
