Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Wizards of the Burning Enlightenment seek to collect and preserve arcane knowledge even more than wizards would already naturally. This thirst can express itself in many ways, it can be a tranquil sea swallowing knowledge seemingly without effort or a raging fire that devours everything in it's path. Wizards of the Burning Enlightenment naturally value knowledge as the highest good and will go out of their way to protect, preserve and aquire it.

Analyze, Adapt, Replicate

2nd-level Burning Enlightenment feature

Whenever a creature casts an, to you, unknown spell that is of the same or lower than your highest spellslot, you can use your reaction to magically analyze the spell and start adapting it into your spellbook. Until you finish a long rest you memorize the spell and can start replicating it, noting a complete version of it into your spellbook. The time you spend to copy a spell into your spellbook like this equals 2 minutes per spell level. The amount of gold you have to invest to note down a spell in this way becomes 0

You can only use this feature once per long rest.

Focus on Materials

2nd-level Burning Enlightenment feature

Using specially prepared components and ancient incantations passed down by your wizardly order, you have mastered the usage of spell components like no other mage.

Casting spells with spell components and without an arcane focus grants you the following benefits:

  • When you cast a wizard spell with a spell slot, you can temporarily replace its damage type with fire damage due to your burning desire to master the arcane craft. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your INT modifier until you finished a long rest.
  • When you cast a wizard spell as a ritual, you can use the spell’s normal casting time, rather than adding 10 minutes to it. Once you use this benefit, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.

Burn the Pages

6th-level Burning Enlightenment feature

The search for arcane knowledge has ignited you to strive and the efforts of your research flicker like sparking embers in your notes and due to that also within your arcana.

As an action you can ignite your spellbook with your passion granting you the ability to cast spells, that are noted down in your spellbook, of 1st and 2nd level as a bonus action. You must use your bonus action to put out the magical fires on your spellbook after one minute otherwise your spellbook becomes damaged in a way of your DMs choosing. Optionally you may choose to not put out the fires on your spellbook to keep this effect going for another minute continuously worsening the damage on your spellbook until it is completly destroyed and burned to ash on the end of your turn after the 2nd minute.

You can only use this feature once per long rest.

Arcane Mind Ablaze

10th-level  Burning Enlightenment feature

Your careful observation of the reaction of individuals and the world around you to your spells has lead you to memorize these signs and patterns. You've learned how to tweak and twist your spells in mere seconds in just the right way to force your desired outcome.

Once per day as a reaction you can force one creature to automatically fail a saving throw it must make due to one of your spells. This feature must be used before you know the outcome of the targeted creatures role.

This effect can be overwritten by legendary resistance leading the targeted legendary creature to succeed it's saving throw and the feature to have no effect.

Enlightened

14th-level Burning Enlightenment feature

In your research you finally have become truely, arcanely enlightened. You have advantage on all Intelligence (Arcana) checks, as long as your spellbook is on your person as it helps you remember all magical lore.

Moreover, if a spell that you cast would deal fire damage naturally it now ignores resistance to fire damage due to your knowledge on how to bypass such resistances with your burning enlightenment.
