Base Class: Monk
A monastic tradition dedicated to harnessing the power, movement, and diversity of the storm. Specifically way of the storm monks empower their steps with lightning and booming force.
Storm Form
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can seize the power of the storm for your own.
When you use a ki point to activate one of your monk abilities, you may choose to enter your storm form. Your storm form lasts for proficiency modifier rounds. While in this form you may move through the space of enemies. When you move through and enemy’s space the enemy shall take 2d6 lightning damage. This damage will increase at level 6 to 3d6 and at level 11 to 4d6. An enemy can only take this damage once per turn per enemy. While in this form you do not provoke opportunity attacks while moving. You also gain resistance to lightning damage and immunity to it while in your storm form.
Electrifying Surge
Starting at 3rd level, you are able to cast the spell shocking grasp. You may use your monk abilities such as flurry of blows, patient defense, and step of the wind even when casting this spell as an action.
Eye of the Storm
At 6th level, if you are in your storm form as an action you spend 2 ki points to cast the call lightning spell. The target of the spell is you while you are in your lightning form. If you forgo your lightning form for any reason the storm randomly strikes in the area it is summoned, determined by the dm. At level 11 you gain the ability to upcast the spell to a maximum of 5th level. For each level above 3rd you wish to upcast, you must spend an additional ki point.
Lightning Rush
At 11th level, while in your storm form you gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed.
Storm Transcendence
At 17th level, when you enter your storm form you may spend an additional ki point to transcend the storm by entering a storm trance. While in a storm trance, you keep all benefits of your storm form but additionally each unarmed strike or monk weapon strike of yours shall deal an additional 1d6 lightning or thunder damage. When you deal lightning damage from the movement portion of your storm for you may deal an additional equal amount of thunder damage.
