Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Maybe you have just cause for what you do, and certain people just can't see it. Maybe you have no justification, but the blood calls to you regardless. Only one thing is for certain: you must kill.

As a slasher, you are extraordinarily gifted in the art of sowing unease and fear in a community, particularly by committing grisly murders throughout the area. Donning a particular appearance as you go out to hunt, you thrive on the fear of your victims, eventually developing a reputation as a threat to the populace. Whether they know your face or not, all that matters is the fear and the blood.

Face of a Killer

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with the disguise kit and one melee weapon of your choice which you can hold in one hand.

In addition, you can now use your disguise kit to craft a special outfit or costume for yourself, creating a persona with which to spill blood and strike terror in the local area.

Modus Operandi

Starting at 3rd level, you have chosen a certain weapon as your signature tool for the slaughter.

Choose one type of melee weapon with which you have proficiency. If a target is frightened of you, you gain advantage on all attacks against them using this weapon.

If you hit a target with this weapon, you can force the target to make a Wisdom Saving Throw. The DC for this Saving throw is equal to 8 + your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus. If you succeed, the target is frightened of you for the next 30 seconds (or five rounds).

In addition, you can deal your Sneak Attack damage using this weapon even if it is not a finesse weapon.

They Always Get Back Up

Starting at 9th level, your thirst for blood pushes you to unsettling limits.

When you are reduced to 0 hit points and making your Death Saving Throws, you can use this feature to recover a single hit point and regain consciousness as soon as you succeed a single Saving Throw. When you do so, you remain motionless where you fell, pretending to be dead. You must remain completely still for one round. After that round, you can launch yourself at a target for one final attack as a reaction. If you do so, you may stand up from prone, move your full movement speed, and make a single attack. If this attack hits, it is automatically treated as a critical hit.

You can use this feature once before you finish a long rest.

Face of Terror

At 13th level, your reputation as a killer has begun to strike fear into the hearts of the land you prowl.

If you enter a new territory where your murders are not common knowledge, you can spend 3 nights establishing your reputation, either by spreading rumors about your trail of bodies or by simply claiming new victims. You do not need to do this if you are an established threat in the territory.

Once you have an established reputation, you strike fear into your opponents when you arrive on the scene. When a creature of 7 Intelligence or higher sees you in your persona from your Face of a Killer feature and wielding your modus operandi weapon, they must immediately make a Wisdom Saving Throw against your Modus Operandi DC, which equals 8 + your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus. If the creature fails this Saving Throw, they become frightened of you for one minute.

It Was the Boogeyman

Starting at 17th level, you become more than just an adventurer; you've sprayed so much blood, you have become pure violence and terror.

When you attack and hit a creature that is frightened, it must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, double the damage of your attack against the creature.
