Monk
Base Class: Monk

Through the use of ki, you learn the ways of astral projection in a more immediate and tactile form, creating the manifestations of your soul's duality to aid you in battle. You understand the soul in a way many fail to grasp, and you use that to your advantage. Monks of the Way of the United Self put in to practice the effectiveness of balance, and use that balance for an extra boost towards its target.

When choosing this path, consider the motivations of your monk. Was their life too chaotic and needed to settle the peace? Did they have a troubling upbringing and need a semblance of control in their lives? Or is their life too quiet, and they need a little chaos to spark some pep back into their life? Whatever the motive, the monk is able to use it as a manifestation of their astral self..

Summon Manifest

Starting at 3rd level, you can use your ki to create an astral duplicate of yourself.

As an action, you spend a ki point to create a perfect duplicate of yourself that lasts for 1 minute, or until you lose your concentration (as if you were concentrating on a spell). The duplicate appears in an unoccupied space that you can see within 30 feet of you. As a bonus action on your turn, you can move the duplicate up to 30 feet to a space you can see, but it must remain within 120 feet of you.

For the duration, you can attack as though you were in the duplicate’s space, but you must use your own senses. The duplicate acts as an ally for the purposes of positional advantages, such as flanking, etc.

This duplicate remains for the duration unless dispelled with a successful dispel magic spell against the user's ki save.

You can use this feature once every short rest.

Manifest of Harmony - Your body emits a bright glow of golden radiant energy before the manifest is summoned to a space within 30 feet of you. This manifest deals radiant damage equal to your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier.

Manifest of Discord - Your body emits an inky shadow of necrotic energy before the manifest is summoned to a space within 30 feet of you. This manifest deals necrotic damage equal to your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier.

Channel Manifest

Starting at 6th level, you learn how to focus your manifested ki in your soul, granting you the essence of its benefits into your physical form.

When you are attacked, you can spend a ki point and use your reaction to teleport to your duplicate's previous location, as long as it within 30 feet of you. When you teleport, you leave a copy of your astral body behind that takes the impact and detonates, dealing 1d10 + your Wisdom modifier in which ever type of damage the summon was. You can use this feature once every short or long rest.

You also gain the following benefits.

Soul's Facade - You gain advantage on Wisdom (Insight) and Charisma (Intimidation) checks for up to 1 minute.

Soul Surge - Your body becomes empowered with your manifested ki energy, allowing you to deal extra damage equal to your Martial Arts die for 1 minute.

Duality of the Soul

Starting at 11th level, you learn to channel your soul's duality into each of their own individual duplicates.

When you use your action to spend a ki point to summon one of your Manifests, you can spend another ki point to summon the other in the same action, or later. The duration extends to 10 minutes. As a bonus action, you move any number of them 30 feet, up to a range of 120 feet.

This duplicate remains for the duration unless dispelled with a successful dispel magic spell against the user's ki save.

Avatar of the Unified Soul

Starting at 17th level, when you have both of your duplicates summoned, you spend an action to spend 2 ki points to shape your ki duplicates into a single manifestation, creating your soul's avatar.

The avatar is a creature, partially real and formed from your ki, and it can take actions and otherwise be affected as a normal creature. It appears to be the same as you, but it has half your hit point maximum + your Monk level + your Wisdom modifier and is formed without any equipment. Otherwise, the duplicate uses all the same statistics as you, except that it is a construct. Your ki pool is shared between both you and your avatar.

The avatar is friendly to you and creatures you designate. It obeys your mental commands, moving and acting in accordance with your wishes, but acting on its own initiative turn in combat.

When you use the 'Channel Manifest' feature, the avatar deals 1d10 + your Wisdom modifier radiant damage and 1d10 + your Wisdom modifier necrotic damage. The avatar takes the damage of the attack, but remains until it drops to 0 hit points.

You can use this feature once every long rest.
