Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the way of the spider are usually few and far between. But those who pursue this way follow a mindset of righteousness and incredible willpower. Most stories include a life-altering moment. Whether or not they were cursed by a drider warlock, or they were bitten as a result of a wizard's experiments on a spider, those whose lives are irreversibly altered are destined power that infuses them with the attributes of a spider.

Web Slinger

Starting when you reach 3rd level, your control over your ki allows you to conjure web-like threads that shoot from the palm of your hands and stick onto surfaces. When used in combat, they fade 6 seconds after being used and when out of combat your web threads have the properties of hempen rope and stay until broken.

You learn Web Zip and one other spider discipline of your choice, which are detailed in the "Spider Disciplines" section below. You learn an additional discipline of your choice at 6th, 11th, and 17th levels.

Web Zip

As an action, you may choose a surface within 120 feet of you. A web thread shoots from your hand and attaches there, as part of the action you may move up to your speed in a straight line toward where you attached the web

Wall Crawler

At 6th level, by using your ki to precisely manipulate the positive and negative charges of creatures and objects you can stick your body on to them. You gain the ability to move up, down, and across vertical surfaces and upside down along ceilings, while leaving your hands free, you gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.

Spider Senses

At 11th level, your ki enhanced perception gives you the ability to foretell danger. You can't be surprised while you are conscious and other creatures don't gain advantage on attack rolls on you as a result of being hidden. Additionally, you add your Wisdom modifier to initiative rolls.

Proportional Strength

Starting at 17th level, your body's inherent physique has been enhanced by the spider. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift and you can use your dexterity score in place of your Strength score for determining any strength-based ability checks or for determining carrying capacity or weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Spider Disciplines

You gain spider-like abilities such as Web Burst, Web Pull, Reactive Sling, Distracting Web, Weaver of Words, Fight or Flight, Venom Strike, Zip Strike, Spider Reflexes, Web Cocoon, and Impact Web.

Distracting Web

As an action, you may shoot a burst of the web at a creature in an attempt to blind or deafen them. The target must make a dexterity saving throw or be blinded or deafened until the end of your next turn. If the creature fails their save you may make an unarmed strike as a bonus action.

Fight or Flight

As a reaction to being targeted by an attack or the frightened condition, you may expend 2 ki points to become invisible for 1 minute. Attacking a creature or casting a spell breaks this invisibility. Alternatively, you can expend 2 ki points to become immune to the frightened condition and have your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 for 1 minute.

Force of Will

When damage reduces you to 0 hit points, you may make a constitution saving throw (DC5 + Damage Taken). On a success, you instead drop to 1 hit point. You can't use this feature if you are reduced to 0 hit points by a critical hit. Every use of this feature costs 1 ki point if you have not taken a short rest after using it the first time, otherwise, you may use this feature for free.

Impact Web

You gain a new attack option that you can use with the Attack action. This special attack is a ranged attack with a range of 30 feet. You are proficient with it, and you add your Dexterity modifier to its attack and damage rolls. Its damage is bludgeoning and its damage die is a d4. This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the martial arts column of the Monk table.

When you take the Attack action on your turn and use this special attack as part of it, you can spend one ki point to make the special attack twice as a bonus action.

When you gain the Extra Attack feature, this special attack can be used for any of the attacks you make as part of the Attack Action.

Reactive Sling

You can use your Deflect Missiles even if the target of the projectile isn't you, provided they are within 30 feet of you, but you cannot make a ranged attack with the weapon deflected.

Spider Reflexes

When you are targeted with an attack, you may spend one ki point as a reaction to impose disadvantage on that attack. If the attack misses, you may move 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks, or make an unarmed strike.

Venom Strike

As part of Stunning Strike, you may spend a ki point to deal 2 additional martial arts die of poison damage if the creature fails their saving throw. If this damage reduces the target to below a fourth of the creature's maximum hit points, it is instead paralyzed until the end of your next turn.

Weaver of Words

You may cast the cantrip Vicious Mockery as a bonus action using charisma as your spellcasting stat. Additionally, in combat, if a hostile creature misses you or an ally within range of the spell with an attack you may cast Vicious Mockery as a reaction targeting the creature.

Web Burst

You may cast the Web spell without material and verbal components using Charisma as your spellcasting stat. Additionally, you can move through your webs unimpeded.

Web Cocoon

As a reaction when you take damage, you can spend 3 ki points to entomb yourself in web, which fades away at the end of your next turn. You gain 5 temporary hit points per monk level which takes as much of the triggering damage as possible. Immediately after you take damage, you gain vulnerability to fire damage, your speed is reduced to 0, and you are incapacitated. These effects, including any remaining temporary hit points, all end when the cocoon fades.

Web Pull

As a bonus action, you can shoot a line of sticky, web rope at a creature you can see within 30 feet of you. It must succeed on a strength-saving throw or be pulled to an unoccupied space within 15 feet of you. If it is Large or smaller you can move it in the air; otherwise, you can only pull it along the ground.

Zip Strike

If you target a creature with your Web Zip, you may expend 1 ki point to make an unarmed strike against it as part of the action. If you moved at least 20 feet, the damage of this strike increases by your monk level plus your charisma modifier.
