Monk
Base Class: Monk

Strike like lightning, crash like thunder; students of the Way of the Storm learn to harness their ki to become living forces of nature.  Based on the teachings from the Way of the Four Elements, masters have forgone the balance of prime elements and have embraced the unhesitating nature of lightning and the totality of thunder.  Able to swiftly move around the battlefield, these monks channel their momentum to deliver devastating blows to their foes.

Fists of Thunder and Lightning

3rd-level Way of the Storm feature

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can charge your strikes with the elemental forces of thunder and lightning.  When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 1 ki point to impost one of the follow effects.

Fist of Thunder.  Your attack deals additional thunder damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die and pushes the target 10 feet away if its size is large or smaller.

Fist of Lightning.  Your attack deals additional lightning damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die to the target and another creature of your choice that you can see within 10 feet of it.

You may use only one of these effects only once per turn.

Voltaic Strike

6th-level Way of the Storm feature

Starting at 6th level, you can use the speed you build up to unleash a devastating blow against your foe.  Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can cause the attack to deal extra thunder damage equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die for every 10 feet of movement you took in a straight line before making the attack.

The number of dice you can roll is capped per instance of this is your current Monk level.

Storm Surge

Starting at 11th level, you can channel your ki to give you a stunning burst of speed.  As an action, you can spend 4 ki to cast the Haste spell targeting yourself, without providing material components.  Additionally, you gain the Thaumaturgy cantrip if you do not already know it.

Become the Storm

17th-level Way of the Storm feature

At 17th level, your ki mastery allows you to physically embody the destructive elements you wield.  As a bonus action, you can spend 5 ki to become a living bolt of lightning for 1 minute.  This form ends early if you are incapacitated, or if you die.  In this form you gain the following benefits.

Elemental Resistance.  You are immune to thunder and lightning damage.

Empowered Fist of Thunder and Lightning.  You can use either Fist of Thunder or Fist of Lightning without spending the ki point for the ability.  You can still use only one per turn.

Improved Movement.  While in this form you do not provoke attacks of opportunity and can move through creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain.  The first time you move through a creature on your turn it takes lightning damage equal to 5+your Wisdom modifier.  If you end your turn inside a creature or object, they take 5+your Wisdom modifier lightning damage and you take 1d10 force damage.
