Base Class: Monk
While those of the Sun Soul channel their inner light, those of the Void Soul harness their inner darkness. Despite this, the two disciplines are closely intertwined. They both are part of a greater tradition, the Way of the Light and Dark, who's job is to enforce the balance of the universe.
"Those of the Light bring stability and prosperity, while those of the Dark bring change and necessity. You cannot have one without the other, for a world with no change brings no progress, and a world without stability brings no structure."
Shadow Volley
You gain the ability to hurl bolts of darkness at your enemy.
You gain an attack with a 30ft range that you are proficient in. It uses your Wisdom modifier for attack and damage rolls.
When you use this attack, you summon a number of bolts equal to your proficiency bonus. Each bolt deals 2d4 cold damage and has its own attack roll. When you get the 'Extra Attack' feature, you may use this feature for one or both attacks.
When you declare the attack, but before you roll to hit, you may spend a Ki point as a bonus action to add necrotic damage to every bolt in the attack. This damage is based on your Martial Arts die. If you fire off two volleys (i.e. with Extra Attack), this only applies to one volley.
Shade Dash
If you dash as an action, you may spend 4 ki points to triple your speed instead of double, and foes cannot take opportunity attacks on you. This does not apply to nor stack with bonus action dashes.
Abyss Leap
You gain the ability to jump unnaturally high and crash into the ground. This emits a spherical shockwave of void energy that damages and knocks back your foes.
The stats and Ki cost change based on jump height.
5ft: 2d8 cold damage, 10ft radius, 5ft shove, 4 Ki
10ft: 3d8 cold damage, 15ft radius, 10ft shove, 6 Ki
15ft: 4d8 cold damage, 20ft radius, 15ft shove, 8 Ki
Every creature within the radius besides the user must make a Constitution saving throw. On a fail, the creature takes full damage and is shoved backwards in a straight line. On a success, the creature takes half damage and is not shoved. The DC is your Ki Save DC.
Avatar of the Shade Lord
Your soul is in perfect harmony with your inner darkness. You are able to briefly draw on the power of the Shade Lord, a God-Like being who reigns in the Abyss.
As a bonus action, may expend 10 Ki points to gain the following benefits for 10 minutes
- Your movement increases by 15ft
- Your attacks deal an extra 1d10 cold damage
- Attacks against you have disadvantage
- You are immune to being charmed, frightened, and paralyzed.
- You may roll Intimidation with advantage to make a creature that can see you frightened.
Friend of the Dark
You have advantage against being frightened, can speak Abyssal, and can see in any darkness, magical or nonmagical, for 30ft.
