Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Flamecaller learn to harness their Ki in such a way that it extends out of their body in the form of heat and fire, imbuing their attacks with destructive force.
Many who are drawn to this fighting style are reckless and impulsive, intoxicated by the power at their disposal. However, only those who value self-restraint can control, focus and direct this power and unleash its true potential.
Pyrotechnics
3rd-level Way of the Flamecaller feature
Your control over your inner fire allows you to create and manipulate flames to some degree. You know the Produce Flame and Control Flames cantrips. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability modifier for these spells.
Fists of Flame
3rd-level Way of the Flamecaller feature
You can use the fire fueled by your Ki to empower your fighting capabilities. As a bonus action on your turn you can wreathe yourself in flames, which last for 1 minute. For the duration, each of your melee attacks with a weapon or an unarmed strike can reach a target up to 10 feet away from you, as flaming tendrils launch toward the target. In addition, your melee attacks deal extra fire damage equal to your Proficiency Bonus. This effect ends early if you fall unconscious or if you dismiss it as a bonus action on your turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. While you have no uses available, you can spend 1 ki point to use this feature again.
Searing Blood
6th-level Way of the Flamecaller feature
You learn to more subtly control the heat around you, both to protect yourself and to harm others. You gain resistance to fire damage. In addition, damage dealt by your Monk features ignores resistance to fire damage.
Volcanic Rush
6th-level Way of the Flamecaller feature
Calling forth your fire to empower your attacks gives you a surge of adrenaline, allowing you to withstand injury. When you activate your Fists of Flame feature and at the beginning of each of your turns while it remains active you gain temporary hit points equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of one). When your Fists of Flame ends, you lose any remaining temporary hit points from this feature.
Guise of Fire
11th-level Way of the Flamecaller feature
With time and practice you learn to harness even more firepower, further increasing your destructive potential. When you activate your Fists of Flame feature you may expend an additional 1 ki point to activate an enhanced version of it. When you do, in addition to the abilities granted by Fists of Flame you also gain the following abilities for the duration:
- You are immune to fire damage and have resistance to cold damage.
- Any creature that moves within 5 feet of you for the first time on a turn or ends its turn there takes 1d10 fire damage.
- Creatures that are immune to fire take half fire damage from your Monk features instead of no damage.
Immolating Inferno
17th-level Way of the Flamecaller feature
The control over your inner fire reaches its pinnacle, and you learn to manifest it as a flaming vortex around you. As an action you can expend 5 ki points to erupt a fiery conflagration in the form of a 50-foot-tall cylinder with a 10-foot radius centered on you. Each creature other than you in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 20d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The fire spreads around corners and ignites flammable objects in the area that aren’t being worn or carried. A creature damaged in this way can’t regain hit points for 24 hours, and is disintegrated if this damage leaves it with 0 hit points.
