Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Many centuries ago there were several clans that perfected the art of creating Yantras, tattoos with magical properties imbued into them. You are a descendant of one such clan and its knowledge has been passed down through the generations.

Bonus Proficiency

You are proficient with Tattooist Needles.

Living Tattoo

Beginning at 1st level, you have inherited and magical familial tattoo from your ancestors.

You choose the form your familiar takes, it can be any of the following forms: bat, cat, crab, frog (toad), hawk, Lizard, Octopus, owl, Poisonous Snake, fish (quipper), rat, raven, Sea Horse, Spider, or Weasel. Appearing in an unoccupied space within range, the familiar has the Statistics of the chosen form, though it is a Celestial, fey, or fiend (your choice) instead of a beast.

Your familiar acts independently of you, but it always obeys your commands. In Combat, it rolls its own Initiative and acts on its own turn. A familiar can't Attack, but it can take other Actions as normal.

If your familiar is reduced to 0hp it vanishes, leaving behind no physical form and the space its form occupied in your familial tattoo remains blank. You will be unable to use your familial tattoo until you perform a 1 hour spell to restore the missing form to its place, at which point you will be able to re-summon your familiar as if it had been dismissed into your familial tattoo.

While your familiar is within 100 feet of you, you can communicate with it telepathically. Additionally, as an action, you can see through your familiar's eyes and hear what it hears until the start of your next turn, gaining the benefits of any Special Senses that the familiar has. During this time, you are deaf and blind with regard to your own Senses.

As an action, you can temporarily dismiss your familiar. It disappears and its form appears as part of your familial tattoo. As an action while it is temporarily dismissed, you can cause its form to disappear from your familial tattoo and your familiar to reappear in any unoccupied space within 30 feet of you.

You can't have more than one familiar at a time. You can add other forms to the familial tattoo, once you have more than 1 form as part of your familial tattoo, when you spend an action to summon your familiar from within your familial tattoo you can choose which form it takes. It remains in this form until you use an action to dismiss it back into the familial tattoo and choose a different form.

Finally, when you Cast a Spell with a range of touch, your familiar can deliver the spell as if it had cast the spell. Your familiar must be within 100 feet of you, and it must use its Reaction to deliver the spell when you cast it. If the spell requires an Attack roll, you use your Attack modifier for the roll.

Spellwrought Tattoo

Beginning at 1st level, your ancestral knowledge has been passed to you down many generations, you know how to create Spellwrought Tattoos.

To create a Spellwrought tattoo you must perform a 1 hour ritual with a Tattooist Needle and a written copy of the spell. During the ritual the ink from the page is absorbed into the needle leaving the page blank. Once the ritual is complete you must touch the needle to your skin and speak the command word, the spell will then become tattooed on your skin.

The spell must be of a level you are able to cast up to a limit of 5th level. The Spellwrought Tattoo has 3 charges the you can use to cast the spell at its base level, once the charges are used the tattoo fades away.
