Base Class: Barbarian
The air grows chill as darkness falls across the water, a cold fog rising from the depths of a dark lake. Suddenly the chill is interrupted by the clang of steal a swirling form in the mist. Mere moments later the deadly dance has come to an end; the watch cut down before they could so much as scream.
The ship's bow crashes against the waves as the relentless storm turns the crew's hearts to fear. Lightning strikes through the mist, illuminating the form of a dwarven pirate snarling at the cowering men as he raises up his greataxe.
Not all barbarians allow their rage to control them, and so it is with the Mistwalkers. Silently they stalk their prey, letting fear consume them before striking from the mists.
Mistweaver
Starting at 3rd level, whenever you enter your rage you can choose to summon a 30-foot diameter sphere of mist originating from you. This mist wraps around corners but does not extend through solid objects, and its area is lightly obscured. While you are in this mist you can forgo any amount of your movement and cause your mist to move that distance instead. Your mist vanishes if you leave its area or your rage ends.
In addition, creatures of your choice in the mist can attempt to hide even if the mist is the only thing obscuring them from the creature they are attempting to hide from.
Dewstride
Also at 3rd level, you learn to move through your mist as if you were one. When you begin your rage and as a bonus action on subsequent turns while you rage you can use a bonus action to teleport to any location you can see within your mist.
Formless Terror
Starting at 6th level, whenever you teleport with your Dewstride ability if you hit a creature with your next attack on the same turn that creature becomes frightened of you until the end of your next turn.
Rain's Boon
Starting at 10th level your connection to the mists grow, granting you one of the following benefits of your choice. Whenever you finish a long rest you can change which effect you benefit from.
Feardrinker
You score a critical hit against any frightened creature on a roll of 18-20.
Fogeel
Creatures of your choice in the mist can reduce any damage dealt to them by 2.
Lifesapper
Creatures of your choice treat your mists area as difficult terrain.
Spacestepper
You learn the dimension door spell and can cast it without expending a spell slot or material components. Once you do so you can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest. When you cast it in this way you can take up to a number of creatures equal to your proficiency bonus with you (assuming they meet the spells other qualifiers).
Unseenone
You can take the Hide action as a bonus action on your turn (this can be the same bonus action you take to rage or activate your Dewstride ability).
Vaporcaller
Choose one of the following spells: create or destroy water, pass without trace, or water walk. You learn that spell and can cast it at will without expending a spell slot or material components.
Shielding Cloud
Starting at 14th level while you are in your mist you can see anything within its area as if you had blindsight, and can see into the ethereal plane within the same area.
In addition, as a reaction when a creature in your mist (including yourself) is hit with an attack, you can give them resistance to the attack's damage and immediately teleport them to any unoccupied space within 5 ft of you.
