Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Seven Gates are connected to the cosmic forces that hold the planes together. Gates exist between this cosmic force and the planes and some are able to reach through them and tap into the vast amounts of energy that exist there. They channel this power through one of the seven gates to enhance their weapons in battle, heal themselves, and speed their body up to incredible speeds.
Open Gate
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can tap into your ki to unlock a gate that connects you to the cosmic forces. Unlocking a gate may require either an action or a bonus action. Gates last for various durations and have either lasting or instant effects. However, starting at 3rd level you may only have one gate open at any time. To clarify if you have a gate open that lasts for 1 minute, you cannot also open a gate that has an instantaneous effect since both gates would be open at one point in time. Additionally, you may not stack gates (e.g. open the First Gate twice). After a gate closes, you cannot open that particular gate again until you take a long rest. Beginning at 3rd level you know how to unlock 2 of the gates:
First Gate You focus on channeling power into your martial prowess. You can spend 2 ki points on your turn to open this gate as an action. This gate stays open for 1 minute during which you can deal additional bonus damage equal to your martial arts die (your choice of damage when you open the gate) on one of your attacks each round.
Second Gate You focus on quickening your stride and your form shimmers. You can spend 1 ki point on your turn to open this gate as a bonus action. This gate stays open for 1 minute during which your move speed is doubled.
Cosmic Discipline
At 6th level, you gain the ability to have two gates open at once. Additionally, you learn to open two more gates:
Third Gate You focus on absorbing healing energy from the cosmos restoring the vitality of yourself and your party. You can spend 3 ki points to cast mass healing word at 3rd level as an action. Use your wisdom modifier as your spellcasting ability modifier for this spell.
Fourth Gate You focus on steadying your mind and body. You can spend 2 ki points to open this gate as a bonus action. This gate stays open for 1 minute during which you have advantage on the next 3 saving throws (includes death saving throws).
Soul of the Cosmos
At 11th level, you gain the ability to have three gates open at once. Additionally, you learn to open two more gates:
Fifth Gate You focus on allowing the cosmic force from the other side of this gate to wash through you. You can spend 4 ki points to send five balls of energy that can target oen creature each within 120 feet as an action. You may target one creature with multiple balls. Each ball automatically hits and deals 2d4 force damage.
Sixth gate You focus on letting yourself become swathed in cosmic energies. You can spend 3 ki points to coat your skin in a protective shell as a bonus action. This gate stays open for 1 minute during which you gain +3 to your AC.
The Seventh Gate
At 17th level, you gain the ability to have unlimted gates open at once. Additionally, you learn to open the seventh and final gate:
Seventh Gate You focus on amassing vast amounts of cosmic energy inside and outside your form becoming the emodiment of the cosmos. Your whole body becomes one blur of dark swirling energy with bright stars covering it. You can spend 10 ki points to open all six previous gates as well as the seventh as an action. Gates that do not stay open are used immediately. The seventh gate stays open for 1 minute and gives you resistance to all damage and a fly speed of 60 feet. Once the gate closes you gain 1 level of exhaustion.
