Base Class: Monk
You have trained yourself to be fluid, and as direct as a bullet.
Gun Kata
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your special martial arts training leads you to learn the basics of the use of firearms in a special form called Gun Kata. You gain the following features as long as you are wielding a firearm.
- Firearms count as monk weapons for you.
- Being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn’t impose disadvantage on your ranged attack rolls.
Equilibrium
at level three, you may spend a ki point to enter a state of equilibrium. For 10 minutes you enter a state of heightened awareness, that lasts until you are incapacitated or you die. While in this state, you gain the following benefits:
- When you use patient defense, you gain a +2 to your ac against ranged attacks. If a creature within 5 feet of you attempts to make an attack while you are in patient defense, you may use your reaction to force them to make a Strength saving throw against your ki save DC. On a failure you may choose a new target for the attack as you redirect their aim.
- You may spend a ki point to quick load your firearm as a free action as long as you have a free hand.
- Whenever you make an unarmed strike as part of the attack action, you may replace your flurry of blows with two shots from your firearm. The damage is equal to your martial arts die.
Trigger Discipline
At 6th level, you extend your ki into your firearms, granting you the following benefits.
Magic Firearms. Your attacks with your firearms count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
Hard Shot. When you hit a target with an attack made with your firearm, you can spend 1 ki point to cause the weapon to deal extra damage to the target equal to your Martial Arts die. You can use this feature only once on each of your turns.
Superior Gun Kata
At 11th level, you learn the advanced techniques to Gun Kata. You gain the following features:
- Whenever you roll a misfire with your firearm you may spend a ki point to reroll the attack.
- Whenever you take the attack action with a firearm you may spend a ki point as a bonus action to give yourself advantage on the attacks.
- While using your equilibrium feature, you gain blindsight up to 10 feet.
Bullet Hell
At 17th level, your mastery of firearms allows you to rain bullets down on your enemies.
Once per turn, when you make a ranged attack with your firearm, you may spend 1 - 3 ki points to fire additional shots equal to the ki points spent. You must make an attack roll for each shot fired. You may choose new targets for each attack.
