Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

You have made a pact with the void, and share your body with a voidling, which grants you its magical powers. You gain access to powerful curses and combat spells. You have the power to partially corrupt your enemies. But if you are not cautious, you might get corrupted yourself...

Consume and Adapt

Starting at 1st level, when you reduce a hostile creature to 0 hit points with an attack on your own, you gain temporary hit points equal to the damage that was dealt with the last blow.

Void Passage

Starting at 6th level, you can travel through the void to get to a spot that you can currently see without delay. If you do so, you take 1d6 Psychic Damage. Using this ability does not interrupt your concentration, and gives you the option to land a surprise attack.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Adaptive Shell

Starting at 10th level, you gain an adaptive shell that grants you +2 AC.

Whenever you take any kind of damage in combat, your shell adapts to that damage type. Your shell can only be adapted to one damage type at a time. You can use a reaction to suppress an adaptation, in order to keep your current shell.

A shell against a certain damage type grants you resistance, reducing any damage of that type by half, rounded down.

Voidling's Mind

Starting at 14th level, you can use your bonus action to have your Voidling attack for you as a 30 ft. ranged attack that deals 2d8+4 necrotic damage. This damage gains an additional dice every 2 levels.

Whenever you fail any saving throw besides Concentration throws, Strength or Dexterity, your Voidling takes the disadvantage resulting from it for you.

When your voidling gets incapacitated or takes lethal damage, both of these abilities become unavailable until the effect ends or until you take a short or long rest.

Your voidling regains 1d8 HP on any short rest, and 8d8 HP on a long rest, for a maximum of 3 HP per level.
