Quick and agile, dervishes are graceful dancers who move and strike with their own unique steps. Most of them come from nomadic cultures which have beliefs that life is a course of action, not something that is permanently soiled to the ground. Dervishes learn their dance as a way of life and war among their families.

Dancer of the blade

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Performance skill and the scimitar if you don't already have it.

You learn the advancing stance of the dervish at this level. Once per turn before you make a melee attack, you can move 5 feet without provoking attack of opportunity. This ability can be used during other creature's turns.

Also, you learn the dervish dance as a way to use your ki. After you use Flurry of blows, or patient defense, or step of the wind, one chosen creature adjacent to that you can see must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be charmed until the end of this round.

Receding stance

Starting at 6th level, you learn the receding stance of the dervish. When a melee attack misses you, you can use your reaction to make an unarmed attack and then move 10 feet without provoking attack of opportunity. The distance you cover with this feature increases to 15 feet at 11th level.

Swirling stance

Starting at 11th level, you learn the way to turn your dance as a destructive swirl of attacks. When you use you use Flurry of blows, or patient defense, or step of the wind, all adjacent creatures chosen by you that you can see must succeed on a dexterity saving throw or take slashing damage equal to your martial arts die + your dexterity modifier. This ability activates before you attempt to charm a creature with the dancer of the blade feature.

 

Lost in rhythm

At 17th level, You lose yourself in the rhythm of the dervish dance. You always gain the benefits of the spell freedom of movement unless your moving speed is reduced to 0.
