Base Class: Rogue
At third level, a rogue gains the Roguish Archetype feature. The Ruffian is less concerned with stealth and subterfuge, and more with aggression and clout. A Ruffian may be an enforcer for a more morally ambiguous merchant guild, if not an outright thieves' guild, may be in charge of security for loan sharks or other shady back alley dealers, or may simply be a cage fighter or brawler.

Brute Force
When you choose this archetype at third level, you have a particular knack for causing pain. You can apply your sneak attack damage to weapon attacks made with any simple weapon or to your unarmed strikes, including when using your Strength modifier, provided the attack meets the other criteria for sneak attack.
Bonus Proficiencies
Also at third level, you gain proficiency with medium armour and Intimidation, if you do not already have these proficiencies.
Violent Air
When you reach ninth level, you have a very intimidating presence. You gain a bonus to your Charisma (Intimidation) checks equal to your Strength modifier (minimum of +0).
Retaliation
When you reach thirteenth level, you learn to lash out with all of your strength. When you take damage from an attacker within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack or an unarmed strike against the attacker. If the attack that triggers this reaction reduces you to 0 hit points but does not kill you outright, you make this attack at disadvantage before suffering the effects of being reduced to 0 hit points.
Tough Customer
When you reach seventeenth level you are a force to be reckoned with. When you fail a saving throw, you can choose to reroll it, and you must take the new roll. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
