Base Class: Warlock
Your patron is the Woe-eater. Lurking in dark swamps and caves, Woe-eaters are demonic entities that thrive off the negative emotions of mortals. These creatures are enigmatic and rarely show themselves, preferring to communicate through telepathy, animal messengers or using its servants as mouthpieces. They prey on those whose souls are filled with negative emotion, offering a remedy to their pain.
Expanded Spell List
The Woe-eater lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Siphon Sorrow
Starting at 1st level, your patron gives you the ability to draw on the sadness of those around you. As a bonus action you can attempt to forge a link with any creature you can see within 60 ft. , draining their emotions. They must make a WIS saving throw, the DC equal to your spellcasting modifier. On a failure they take 1d8 psychic damage and the link is forged. On a Success they take half as much damage and the connection is not made. This increases to 2d8 at level 5, 3d8 at level 11, and 4d8 at level 17. You can choose not to deal damage with this ability. While this link is active you can detect the emotions of your target and you have advantage on the first skill check that uses charisma when interacting with them.
When you use this ability you can choose one of three curses . The curse lasts one minute or until the target is rendered unconscious or dead or if you are rendered unconscious or dead. You can do it once per short rest, and you can not concentrate on a spell or other ability while the curse is active.
Curse of Exhaustion - The target has disadvantage on attack rolls and its movement speed is halved
Curse of Apathy- The target is charmed and becomes apathetic about creatures or situations around it including hostile creatures. The apathy ends if the target is attacked or harmed by a spell/environment or if it witnesses any of its allies being harmed. When this happens the curse ends immediately.
Curse of Hunger - Whenever you deal damage to the target with Necrotic or Psychic damage you roll 1d8 and gain temporary hit points equal to the result. This increases to 2d8 at level 5, 3d8 at level 11, and 4d8 at level 17
Empathic Insight
Your newfound powers grant you proficiency in the Insight skill if not already proficient. You may use your charisma modifier instead of wisdom.
Wretched Power
Starting at 6th level, the woe-eater imbues you with stronger negative energy magic. You have resistance to psychic damage and advantage on saving throws against effects that would read your thoughts. When you deal psychic or necrotic damage to a target you can add your CHA modifier to one of the damage rolls.
Hunger of the Woe-eater
Starting at 10th level, your curse links grow and fester in power. You are granted two new curses that you can inflict on a target. You also gain the following two curses in addition to the first three. The duration of these curses lasts longer now too, extending to a full hour.
Echoes of Loathing - The target is racked with bitterness and hatred for all around them. They no longer differentiate between foe or ally, attacking those nearest to them. When they take any damage from a source other than this curse their anger flares up, creating a burst of psychic energy that deals a psychic damage equal to your proficiency bonus to each creature within a 30 ft. circle centered on the target.
Black fingers of the Mires - Dark vines and tendrils erupt from the ground in a 30 ft. square centered on the target. The ground becomes difficult terrain and any creature starting their turn in the area must make a constitution saving throw and take 3d10 necrotic damage and be restrained until they use an action to free themselves on a failed save, half as much damage on a success and are not restrained.
Dark Weald of Melancholy
Starting at 14th level, when you create a link with a target instead of giving them a curse you may also use your action to banish them to a demiplane created by the Woe-eater. This is a realm of dead twisted trees, rolling mist and complete and utter loneliness. At the start of the target’s turn they take 8d10 psychic damage as they are confronted with the horrific solitude of these dark woods and you gain temporary hit points equal to the damage dealt as you siphon the joy and life from your target. At the end of each of their turns they may make a Wisdom saving throw equal to your spell DC to try and escape. If the target escapes from the demiplane they are permanently traumatized by the experience, claiming it felt like hours roaming the dark empty forest despite it only being a matter of seconds. Roll on the ‘Long-term madness’ table and the target gains that flaw for 10 x your proficiency bonus + your CHA bonus hours. If the target dies in the demiplane, their body vanishes, presumably to be used by the Woe-eater for whatever purposes it so desires. Use once per long rest.
