Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Creators Notes:

This design philosophy behind this subclass was extremely simple: "What would happen if a 14 year old edgelord who watches way to much anime and wants magic powers... actually got magic powers?" So if you see a feature name and think that its over the top and/or edgy, then I've done my job properly.

------------------------------------------------

In worlds brimming with magic, its only natural that a youth of any race might dream of wielding magical power to conquer nations and slay dragons. However, not every aspiring young hero has their wishes fulfilled, and not everyone gets to go on adventures. Disappointed young farmhands and servants might become bitter, forever wanting the strength that immense magical power brings. But sometimes, whether it be a devils joke, magical accident, or sheer force of will, one of these individuals will have their wishes granted. Such people will typically wield magic characterized by crackling black energy, huge explosions, and long, barely comprehensible chants before casting spells with little to no consistency between them.

Hunger for Hidden Strength

Your lifetime of practicing for the day when you finally gained magical power has resulted in a unique skillset to demonstrate your abilities with. You gain proficiency in the Performance skill, and you learn your choice of one of the following languages: Abyssal, Celestial, Draconic, or Primordial.

Blackest Sorcery

You can hurl bolts of crackling magical energy at creatures, enhancing the effects of your spells on them. You gain a new attack option you can use with the Attack action. This special attack is a ranged spell attack with a range of 120 feet. You are proficient with it, and you add your Charisma modifier to its attack rolls. When you hit a creature with this attack, rather than taking damage, that creature is marked for 1 minute or you choose to end this effect (no action required). The maximum number of creatures that can be marked by this effect at one time is equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1). If the target is willing, you may hit them with this attack without making an attack roll.

When you damage a creature marked by this ability with a spell during your turn, you may consume the mark to deal additional damage to them. The damage is necrotic, and is equal to 1d4 for each level of the spell that consumed the mark. You can consume a mark to damage a creature this way a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, after which you must finish a long rest to do it again.

Starting at 2nd level, you may spend 1 sorcery point to consume a mark and deal its damage if you've already consumed the maximum number of marks.

When you reach 11th level in this class, the die you roll to determine the damage of consuming a mark increases to a d6.

Additionally, at 3rd level, you gain an additional Metamagic option. This Metamagic option doesn't count against your maximum number of known options.

Blackened Spell

When you damage one or more creatures with a spell, you may spend a number of sorcery points less than or equal to the number of creatures damaged. For each sorcery point expended this way, you may mark one creature damaged by the spell as if they had been hit by your Black Bolt. These marks can be consumed normally, and still count towards your maximum number of marks. A spell affected by Blackened Spell cannot consume Black Bolt marks.

You can use Blackened Spell even if you've already used a different Metamagic option during the casting of the spell.

Leap of Dark Lightning

Starting at 6th level, your magic bends the fabric of space as you will it. As a bonus action on your turn, you may exchange places with a creature you can see that is within 60 feet of you and marked by your Black Bolt. Exchanging places this way consumes the mark on the creature and costs 15 feet of your movement.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, after which you must finish a long rest in order to use it again.

Pain for Power

At 14th level, you can convert the pain you inflict with your spellcasting into power for yourself. When damage a creature with a sorcerer spell, you can gain a number of sorcery points equal to the amount of damage dealt to that creature by the spell divided by 10, rounded down.  Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Ultimate Attack: Defiling Breath of the Tormented Dragon Lord

Starting at 18th level, you can unleash the apex of your magic, a devastating attack no other mortal could ever hope to match. As an action, you may expend a number of sorcery points equal to your sorcerer level to choose a point within 120 feet of you. A massive, 40 foot radius, 100 foot high column of fire and death erupts around that point. Each creature within the column makes a Dexterity saving throw and Constitution saving throw (DC = 5 + your spell save DC). Creatures who fail both saving throws take 30d6 fire damage, 30d6 necrotic damage, and are blinded, deafened, and stunned until the end of their next turn. Creatures who succeeded on the Dexterity save take half as much damage. Creatures who succeeded on the Constitution save are not blinded, deafened, or stunned. This ability counts as a 9th level spell only for the purpose of consuming the marks from your Black Bolt. After using this ability, you gain a level of exhaustion, cannot cast spells until the end of your next turn, and must finish a long rest before you can use it again.
