Base Class: Bard
From a shady street corner of a metropolis to a small town's tavern for one night only, seedy scoundrels can always be found swindling somebody out of hard-earned gold. The College of Snake Oil isn't so much an organized pedagogy, but rather underhanded tricks and schemes passed through shadowy networks of criminals and charlatans.
Bards of the College of Snake Oil use their guile and wit, and a little bit of magic, to deceive their customers and partners, distracting them with elaborate schemes. They often employ genuine expertise with a set of tools as a façade for their shady dealings. One of the victims would likely not even know that they have even encountered such a bard until it is too late. (Description taken from Unknown author)
Smooth Talker
The huckster has such a phenomenally glib manner that everything they say tends to have an air of believability, regardless how outlandish the claim. Starting at 3rd level, by expending one Bardic Inspiration use, the Bard gains advantage on social rolls (Persuasion, Deception, Performance) for one minute. This has no effect when the target does not understand the Bard's language or cannot hear at all.
Gotta Go!
Things don't always go according to plan and sometimes a quick getaway is just what the "doctor" ordered. When the Bard finds themselves in a situation wherein their lies have been revealed, or another situation has placed them in danger, they can find a way out. It may not be a glamorous exit, or it could be worthy of a swashbuckler, but one way or another the Bard is getting out of there. Starting at 6th level, once per day the Snake Oil Bard may use Disengage, Dash, and/or Hide as a single bonus action. Standard rules for each of those actions also apply to this feature.
Wasn't Me
Also at level 6, the Bard's mastery of charm and influence exceeds all set boundaries. When the Bard casts any spell wherein the target becomes aware that a spell was cast after the spell effects end (such as Friends, Charm Person, etc.), the Bard can indicate another person within 30' as the caster. The initial target must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the initial target of the spell will become hostile to the indicated person instead of the Bard. The misdirected accusation needn't be reasonable or even make sense, and the Bard is 100% convincing of this. Once the effects have run their course, the initial target becomes immune to this feature for 24 hours.
Fake It Til You Make It
You are an imposter, a charlatan, and a very good one! As such, at level 14, the wily Bard may select one feature from another Bard college and copy it perfectly, as long as requirements are met. The copied feature may be any feature that the Bard's level will allow for. Once this feature is chosen, it cannot be changed and is subject to the same rules and limitations as if it were in its original college.
