Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Gamblers are masters of risk and reward with a lucky streak that keeps them one step ahead of danger. Masters of both deception and reading tells Gambler's thrive in head to head situations where they are trying to gain the advantage over their opponent. Gambler's are Rogue's that seek the thrill and excitement of a risky bet as much as the victories and gold those victories might bring. Rogue's who follow the route of a Gambler can be found anywhere games of chance (and the suckers who play them) can be found. They prefer cities and towns, but they see opportunities to gain big rewards anywhere they travel.

Guns and Games

The secrets of gunpowder weapons have been discovered in various corners of the D&D multiverse. If your Dungeon Master uses the rules on firearms in the Dungeon Master’s Guide and your gambler  has been exposed to the operation of such weapons, your gambler is proficient with them.  You also gain proficiency in one additional gaming set.

Gamblers Luck

3rd-level Gambler feature

You have developed a Gamblers skill allowing you to improve your luck in a variety of situations. This is represented by your Gamblers Luck dice, which are each a d6. You have a number of these dice equal to twice your proficiency bonus, and they fuel various abilities you have, which are detailed below.

Some of your abilities expend the Gamblers Luck die they use, as specified in an abilities description, and you can’t use an ability if it requires you to use a die when your dice are all expended. You regain all your expended Gamblers Luck dice when you finish a long rest.

When you reach certain levels in this class, the size of your Gamblers Luck dice increases: at 5th level (d8), 11th level (d10), and 17th level (d12)

Deadly Gamble. You sometimes take risky gambles during a fight in order to deal extra damage, even at the risk of your own safety. When you take the Attack action, you can expend one of your gambler's luck die to gain advantage on the attack and, if the attack hits, add the roll of the gambler's luck die to the damage inflicted. Also, an attack roll of 18, 19 or 20 is a critical hit when you use this feature. If the attack hits one use of your gambler's luck die is consumed.

Bluff Mastery. You are adept at bluffing your way through a difficult situation. You gain expertise in the Deception skill when you gain this ability. When you attempt to deceive a creature you can roll one Gamblers Luck die and add the number rolled to the Deception check. You can also use this feature to detect a deception by someone else. When attempting to determine if someone is lying roll one Gamblers Luck die and add the number rolled to the skill check (Insight). The gambler's luck die is consumed only on a success when you use this feature.

Bad Luck Curse. You have learned to direct bad luck towards your enemies. As a bonus action, you can curse a creature with bad luck, expend one Gambler's Luck die and roll it. The creature must deduct the number rolled on the Gambler's Luck die from their attack rolls until the start of your next turn.

Lucky Break

9th-level Gambler feature

You have learned to tap into your well of luck to create situations that can get you out of a tough spot. As an action, you create a distraction or commotion that confuses those around you. Each creature of your choosing in a 10' radius sphere around you must make Wisdom saving throw (8 + dexterity bonus + proficiency bonus)or be affected as if by the confusion spell.

Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.

Deflecting Dodge

9th-level Gambler feature

Now when you avoid incoming attacks you can also use your Gambler's Luck to force your opponent to accidentally hit one of their allies. When you take the Uncanny Dodge reaction to reduce damage from an incoming attack by half you can expend one use of the Gambler's Luck die and redirect the other half of the damage to a creature of your choice within 5' of you that is not the original attacking creature.

Gambler's Eye

13th-level Gambler feature

You have developed an incredible eye for details that makes gaining an advantage easier. You have advantage on Perception checks that require sight.

Lucky Strike

17th-level Gambler feature

You have a knack for getting lucky when you perform a sneak attack on an opponent dealing extra damage as you do. Once per short rest, when you deal Sneak Attack damage to a creature, you can add up to three of your Gambler's Dice to the damage roll.
