Base Class: Fighter
"A slender man with a curved blade stands before a crowd of slaughtered incoming orc raiders in his home village, his person and blade being covered in the blood of his enemies. The village cheers in glee as they thank their agile savior, but are astonished at the fact that he came out of the battle completely untouched, not a single drop of blood on him being his own. That, my fellow traveler, is the tale of a Southern Bladedancer." - Some far-off traveler who seems to have been to quite a few places in their lifetime.
The southernmost people are an exotic and rare people whose fighting style also heavily reflects just how different they are from other dedicated fighters. Only those who were raised in the southern region where this fighting style developed would know this art of war and just how deadly it truly is if used properly.
The style itself is composed of loads of acrobatic dodge-based movement whilst always keeping your foe at the end of your blade. Masters of this style of fighting are said to be able to defeat scores of men either unscathed or without drawing sweat. That being said, only those who are most physically agile and fit are capable of performing this truly body-contorting art of battle.
Bonus Proficiency
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in an Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma skill of your choice. Alternatively, you learn one language of your choice.
Agile Assailant
Starting at 3rd level, your improved agile capabilities allows you to become much more mobile in your movements during combat. If are not already proficient in DEX saves, you become proficient.
As a reaction to being attacked a melee range by a creature that is within 10ft of you, you can make a DEX save against their To Hit roll's total before being hit to maneuver directly around the enemy that is attacking you to their backside at exactly the same distance that you currently were before, effectively causing you to semi-circle them and cause their move not to hit you. If you cannot move in a direct semi-circle around the attacking creature (for example, another creature blocks your path or there is a wall in the way), then you cannot activate this reaction. Whenever you make this movement, it does not prompt attack of opportunity from any creature. If you fail the save, however, the creature attacking you critically succeeds at hitting you, dealing double damage.
Know Your Enemy
Starting at 7th level, if you spend at least 1 minute observing or interacting with another creature outside combat, you can learn certain information about its capabilities compared to your own. The DM tells you if the creature is your equal, superior, or inferior in regard to two of the following characteristics of your choice:
- Strength score
- Dexterity score
- Constitution score
- Armor Class
- Current hit points
- Total class levels (if any)
- Fighter class levels (if any)
Whirlwind of War
At 7th level, whenever you take the Agile Assailant: Enhanced Dodge reaction, you can make 1 melee attack against the creature that you are evading if they are within your melee weapon's range.
At 15th level, you can make 2 melee attacks.
Dragon Kick
At 10th level, as a bonus action, you can make an unarmed attack (a kick) to a creature. If the target is Large or smaller, it must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, you knock the target prone and push it back 15ft.
You can do this up to 3 times per long rest.
Tiger Claw
At 10th level, as an action, you can make an unarmed attack (a palm strike) to a creature. If the target is Large or smaller, it must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, you cause the target to be stunned until the start of your next turn.
You can do this up to 2 times per long rest.
Superior Critical
Starting at 15th level, your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 18–20.
Tireless Bladedancer
At 18th level, when you roll initiative and have no uses of Dragon Kick or Tiger Claw remaining, you regain one use of each.
