Base Class: Paladin

 Paladins who swear the Oath of the Motherland dedicate their lives to restoring the world to pre-Shattering status, ability, and safety. They aim to purge the creatures who were brought with the Shattering.

Tenets of The Motherland

Guidance, help and guide those effected and hurt by any events caused by the Shattering.

Protection, protect those in the wave of destruction created by the creatures brought about by the Shattering.

Pride, take pride in your tenets and goals, making them known to your allies as well as your enemies.

Loyalty, stay loyal to your land and your allies, helping protect, guide, and restore them.

Level 3

  • Channel Divinity: Fiery Wrath: Channel Divinity to target one creature within 60 cells, dealing (2d6 + Paladin level) fire damage and setting the target on fire. It can make a DC 10 Dexterity check to put out the fire, or sustain 1d6 more fire damage per turn for one minute.
  • Channel Divinity: Fiery Presence Channel Divinity to blind opponents within 60 cells who fail a Dexterity save. Creatures with Darkvision or better sight in darkness have disadvantage. Blindness lasts 1d4 turns.
  • Oath of the Motherland Spells: In your list and always prepared.
    • Level 3: Bane, Burning Hands
    • Level 5: Branding Smite, Scorching Ray
    • Level 9: Fireball, Dispel Magic

Level 7

  • Volcanic Aura: Friendly creatures in the aura gain fire resistance and +1 to AC.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Fiery Wrath. As an action, you imbue your holy symbol with your flaming radiance. Choose one creature within 60 feet, dealing 2d6+{{classlevel}} and setting the target on fire. It can use an action to make a DC 10 Dexterity check to put out the fire. Until put out, the effected creature will sustain 1d6 fire damage at the start of each of their turns for one minute.

Fiery Presence. As an action, you present your holy symbol and begin to emit a blinding fiery presence. All enemies within 60 feet of you must make a Dexterity saving throw(DC {{savedc:cha}}), a creature with darkvision or better sight in darkness have disadvantage on this saving throw. On failure the creature is blinded. The blindness lasts for [roll]1d4[/roll] rounds.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Oath of the Motherland Spells

Volcanic Aura

Starting at 7th level, you and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you  gain fire resistance and +1 to AC.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Purity of Spirit

Beginning at 15th level, you are always under the effects of a protection from evil and good spell.

Holy Nimbus

At 20th level, as an action, you can emanate an aura of sunlight. For 1 minute, bright light shines from you in a 30-foot radius, and dim light shines 30 feet beyond that.

Whenever an enemy creature starts its turn in the bright light, the creature takes 10 radiant damage.

In addition, for the duration, you have advantage on saving throws against spells cast by fiends or undead.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
