Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

The natural enemy of the tanuki, the ancient fox hides its dens in magical wellsprings native to the forests of the Material Plane.  Those who make contact with this powerful creature tend to be tricked or enthralled into its service, often underestimating the beast's craftiness.  Fox warlocks act as messengers and cunning assassins that have gained their patron's mastery of shapeshifting.

Kitsune Magic

Starting at 1st level, your service to your patron has afforded you the following boons. You gain the message cantrip; it counts as a warlock spell for you and doesn't count against spells known. Additionally, you can speak to foxes as if you were under the effects of the Speak with Animals spell.

Master of Shapes

Additionally, at 1st level, your service to your patron grants you a fox tail. You can hide and reveal your tail at will and you will gain more tails as you take levels in this class representing your bond with your patron and your rank among its followers.

Choose a beast of Challenge Rating 1/8th or lower.  Once per long rest, you can transform into this beast as per the rules of the Wild Shape feature for 1 minute. Each time you would gain a tail from this feature, you can choose another beast and gain another use of this feature. At 8th level, you can also pick from humanoids of Challenge Rating 1/8th or lower.

You gain an additional tail at 3rd level, 5th level, 7th level, 9th level, 11th level, 13th level, 15th level, and 17th level.

Benevolent Deity Gates

At 6th level, you can summon a pair of your patron's red ceremonial gates. As an action, you can summon up to 2 gates to an unoccupied space within 60ft of you. The gates are Large in size and remain for 24 hours or until you dispel them.

If you cross over the threshold of one of these gates, you are instantaneously transported to the opposite gate. Additionally, you can call the gates to crash down onto a creature in an attempt to pin it down, forcing it to make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save the creature is restrained, and if you summoned both gates on the same creature, it has disadvantage on the save. Each creature restrained in this way may remake this save at the end of their turn.

You can use this action a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier, and regain all uses after finishing a long rest.

Kami's Favor

At 10th level, your patron has blessed you personally, inducting you into the upper echelons of its followers. You gain the following benefits:

  • You learn to speak, read, and write celestial.
  • You gain resistance to fire and radiant damage.

Beast Channeling

At 14th level, you have gained great understanding and control over the ancient power your patron holds, and you can now begin to channel it to a greater extent. As an action, you can enter a special transformation that lasts for 1 minute. While in this state, your hair turns to the color of your patrons fur, your tails are on full display, and you manifest fox-like ears. You also gain the following benefits:

  • When you enter this transformation, you cast hallucinatory terrain without using a spell slot. The duration of this spell lasts until your transformation ends.
  • When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you deal an additional 1d10 fire or radiant damage.
  • You can change the damage type of your warlock spells to either fire or radiant damage.
  • Your movement speed increases by 15ft.
