Base Class: Ranger
Spectral Archers possess the ability to imbue their arrows with magical energy, and even to create arrows from pure magical energy. As they grow stronger, they gain the ability to strengthen their arrows with even more abilities, as well as their own skill to use them. Additionally, they increase their own senses, sharpening their spirit itself.
Soul Pool
Starting at 3rd level, a Spectral Archer has access to a resource, referred to as Soul Points. These points may be spent in two ways, and in additional ways at higher levels:
Enchanted Arrow: They may spend 1 minute and 1 Soul Point to change the damage type of their arrows(to Force, Fire, Necrotic, Radiant, Acid, or Frost) for 1 hour for every 2 Ranger levels the character has.
Spirit Arrow: They may also spend 1 Soul Point to make an attack using a longbow without using an arrow. This deals Force damage unless changed by Enchanted Arrow.
Darkvision
You are able to see perfectly in absolute darkness for 60 ft, with the exception of color. If you already have this ability from a racial, background, or other feature, increase the distance to 120 ft.
Spirit Burst
As an action, you may make an attack targeting a location within the range of your longbow. You fire a special Spectral Arrow at that location, which hits any target in that location as a normal Spectral Arrow, and either:
Deals 2d8+Wis Force Damage to all targets within 10 ft, with a Dexterity save for half damage.
Or 3d8+Wis Force Damage to all targets within 5 ft, with a Dexterity save for half damage.
This must be the only attack on this action, and any creature or object hit directly with the arrow may not make a Dexterity save for half damage. This consumes 2 Soul Points.
Rapid Fire
You may make a number of attacks with a longbow as your bonus action, up to the number of attacks you can make with your action. You can only do this if you take no more than a 5-foot step with your movement. Additionally, when you spend your action to make two attacks, both using Spirit Arrow, the second attack does not consume a Soul Point. If you make attacks as a bonus action after making two attacks as your action, you do not add your attack bonus to the attack(s) made with your bonus action, unless that bonus is negative.
