Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Barbarians are often thought of coming from a background that allowed them the chance to harness and hone their skills. Path of the Mutant barbarians have instead spent their time studying different alchemical concoctions that grant them additional features. They exist as a combination of rage, from within themselves, and alchemy, that they have developed to suit their body.

Alchemical Adept

3rd-level Path of the Mutant feature

When you choose this path at level three, you gain proficiency with alchemist’s tools if you do not have it already.

Mutated Rage

3rd-level Path of the Mutant feature

Beginning at level three, you have learned how to augment your rage through experimental concoctions that affect your body. Following a short or long rest, you may create a number of concoctions equal to the number of rages you have. Concoctions lose their potency at the end of a short or long rest, when you begin to make new ones. As part of entering a rage, you may choose between one of the following.

If an effect requires a saving throw, the DC is 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier.

Concoctions
  Effect
Thorns Thorns makes your body more hostile to getting attacked. While raging under the effects of thorns, every time a creature hits you with a melee attack, that creature must roll a dexterity saving throw or take 1d4 + your constitution modifier in piercing damage.
Strong Charger Strong charger gives you more girth when wielding a weapon. While raging under the effects of strong charger, immediately after you make an attack action, you may choose to use your bonus action to make one additional melee weapon attack. On a hit you roll damage and push the creature 5 feet in a direction that isn’t behind you.
Contorted Aura Contorted aura functions to intimidate your opponents. While raging under the effects of contorted aura, you may use a bonus action to target a creature. This creature must succeed a wisdom saving throw or become frightened of you. Creatures you have scored a hit on since your rage began have disadvantage on the saving throw roll.
Denatured Denatured twists and loosens the bonds between the very essence that makes up your body. While under the effects of denatured, you may use a bonus action to teleport to an unoccupied space within 30 feet that you can see.

Battle Crafter

6th-level Path of the Mutant feature

At level six, you have mastered making your concoctions and are able to swiftly experiment with them in battle. As part of your rage, you may use one of your previously prepared concoctions as part of this experimental rage. If you do this, roll on the ‘experimental concoctions’ table.
